I was able to DIY this one. For me the problem was that a locking clip had become flipped around and needed to be repositioned.
See timestamp 3:44 of this video to see the referenced locking clip:
To DIY fix:
1) firmly pull on both sides of the phone charging panel to pull it out. There will be one cord that makes it a bit tough to move it off to the passenger side, but it can be easily unclipped and reseated upon reinstall.
2) the sliding panel is already closed all of the way since it is broken. Get a long flathead screwdriver. Get your head really low and shine a flashlight in where the sliding panel goes. You'll see an L-shaped paper clip like thing sticking up about 1-and-a-half inches in (mine was colored red). That is what we need to jiggle around a bit.
3) A bit of a fiddly part. For me, that clip was off to the side and pointed all the way back. It needs to be rotated counterclockwise over a seating clip so that it is pointed directly towards you (the back of the car). After like 20 tries you should be able to get it, and for me, it all started working again.
4) Re-clip the wire and reseat the charger panel.
Hope this helps!
