I picked up my Model X 60D last night. From order to delivery was about 5-6 weeks.
First off, thanks to everyone this forum for posting things to look out for when taking delivery.
I guess every service center is different. I had to inspect my car outside near dusk. I thought they were going to drive the car inside a delivery room so I could see it under the lights but I think they were a lot of deliveries that day.
Inspecting the car itself I found several build problems. The passenger side door “handle” chrome was misaligned/bent inward. The trunk was misaligned. Next day I noticed the hood was also misaligned. The left FWD is also misaligned compared to the right FWD which is flush with the right front door. The weather stripping was coming off the driver side door when the window was down. I’m sure there will be more things that come up once I drive it more and see it under the sun. However, I’m not too disappointed, but actually expected these things to pop up (after reading others experiences on this site). The service center will contact us to address the items above.
The most disappointing part about the delivery day was that the tesla employee who was showing us the features of the car was inexperienced and could not answer any of our questions. Without getting into too much detail, this employee was not aware that the key fob opened the FWD. While we got another employee to help us with some of our other questions, we were somewhat skeptical about whether we would get reliable information from anyone there and just decided to leave.
I’m hoping the servicing experience will be a bit better.
