New car, old key cards?

When I trade in my 2018 M3LR for a new MYLR I will turn in the two key cards that came with the old car - no questions. But, when I purchased the M3LR in 2018 I also purchased two added key cards and registered them to the car as "Service" and "Friend". Can I keep those two added key cards and register them to my new MYLR?

The procedure at Adding and Removing Keys seems straightforward, but it doesn't say whether or not the key card you are adding needs to be "virgin", i.e. never previously registered to another Tesla. It reads as though I could simply Remove those two key cards from the M3LR before trading it in and then Add the same two key cards to the new MYLR, but will it work?

Anything to save $35.
