Plasti Dip for the aero covers?

Has anyone plasti dipped the aero covers yet?

I have no idea why tesla is so obsessed with dark grey wheels. I hated the aero covers and the 18" wheels underneath for that reason. I'm looking into ways to make the aero covers silver, which is the color all stock wheels should be, in my opinion. Let the the aftermarket sell dark wheels if people want to look like fast and furious mod racers.

I saw a guy on facebook with a silver TM3 who had a body shop paint his aero covers the same silver as the car, but I'm wondering if plasti dip might be a cheaper way to go, especially if you're not trying to exacly match the wheels to the car color.

Plasti dip sells both "aluminum" and "bright aluminum metalizer" that I'm considering. I know you can supposedly peel the stuff off if it looks bad, and aero covers aren't too expensive to replace, but it'll still feel strange to be "spray painting" parts on my brand new $60k car...

Has anyone tried this yet?
