Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

I talked to a supercharger construction crew once. They have a schedule of where to be and when to be there. If they're really busy, they might have locations scheduled out for several months, or if things are slower, it might only be a week or two. So, they could start construction in Branson anytime. When they're done, the electrical company needs to install the meter and turn the power on (which can take a few or many days) and then Tesla's commissioning team has to certify the location is good to go. I've seen locations go in pretty fast and some much slower, so it's hard to know at this point. Hopefully, it'll be ready for the summer season.
Branson has been on and off the "coming soon" list for at least 6 or 7 years. Something tells me it's going to go slowly as it has been.

No construction activity as of a couple days ago. Not sure how long Tesla takes to start once permitting is approved, but going off of the Supercharger at Buc-ee’s in Springfield, I’m guessing it might be a few months—I can’t get into Springfield/Greene County’s permit dashboard (it’s not open to the public like Branson’s is) but based on timelines reported in the thread on that charger, the permit was approved several months ago but construction didn’t start until just recently.

That means the Branson charger won’t be ready in time for summer peak tourist season, unfortunately.

If it's anything like the recent Conway AR supercharger.

Permit Approved: 11/06/2023
Construction Started: ~12/15/2023
Finalized and open: 02/16/2024

They did seemingly have some problems during the install process for Conway though. Led to a bunch of work after everything looked done.

Anyone been by to see if there's any construction work going on?

Curious if this site is going to be abandoned or not with the SC team gone.
I'm an optimist. Elon said Tesla is going to spend $500 million on new superchargers this year. I'm hopeful it'll get rolling when the supercharger team is re-formed (they've already started hiring back some of the team that was laid off).

No signs of construction on June 7. I drove the perimeter of the large parking lot Target shares with Home Depot and did not see any activity along the perimeter or center of the parking lot.

Tesla partnered with Target in 2020 to install Superchargers at 40+ Target stores. Assuming this site is an expansion of the existing partnership, I would guess that the Superchargers will be installed in the middle of an existing row of parking spots on the south/southwest end of the Target lot or along the southwest edge of the Target lot (marked in red on Google map below). This would keep the chargers out of the high-traffic parking areas where they are more likely to be ICE'd. I would be shocked if chargers were installed in the Home Depot lot based on partnership and based on the Branson permit address. FYI for anyone else monitoring progress.

Electric distribution seemed to be underground throughout this area. I couldn't find any distribution maps, but I would guess that the lines run along Branson Hills Parkway.

Are there any other DC Fast charging stations in Branson for public use?
There is a two-stall 120kW Francis Energy CCS site near where this Supercharger will be built. You will need a CCS compatible car with a CCS adapter to use it.

It's an SK Signet unit with passively cooled cables, so its pretty reliable. I think Francis should replace all their existing BTC chargers with these units (with NACS). It would help their reputation quite a bit.

As an aside, with the rehiring of former staff, I now believe there's a good chance this Supercharger will still get installed. It's just probably delayed.
