Feel for you, that totally sucks. Some good advice on this thread. Thing is, with sentry mode Eventually thieves will realise what Tesla's can do and simply also steal the usb stick.

True, they need to offer a premium cloud based service, that triggers just on breaches of the vehicle

i'm pretty sure they have already said that if sentry mode is triggered, it will upload the video to the cloud. you can then get it from tesla if you need to file an insurance claim or police report.

I rather save this option as a last ditch option. It is going to be an epic pain in the butt to call Tesla up have them locate your file and go through the process of retrieving it for you. Much easier to take matters into your own hands and not have the USB stick stolen in the first place.
