2022 MYLR - Steering Sensitivity

On my 2022 MYLR - I notice the steering is very sensitive leading to unnecessary sways of the car in highway speeds - comparatively - the Lexus I have is more forgiving that gives a much better ride experience. I know many folks love the responsiveness of Tesla but wondering if there is any adjustment (sway bar?). No one can be precisely holding the steering and even small movements of the hand it feels like the vehicle is shaking left to right.

I should mention that I have the steering set to Comfort mode.

I dont have any issues at all with Our 2022 Model Y Performance, but I also have the stock suspension, and stock everything else. I also really dislike lexus steering (I mean realllllyyy dislike it), so the chances are pretty good our cars are the same, just our perception of it is different.

Get the alignment checked. This comes up frequently with cars which haven't got the right toe settings. Doesn't matter how old the car is either. They can be wrong from the factory.

I personally love that there is no "dead zone" in my steering input. I can move the wheel maybe 4mm side to side maximum before the wheels start turning.

Others might like being able to sneeze, and have no movement of the car, despite they just moved the wheel like an inch. My borrowed Truck is similar in feeling to this and the steering wheel does nothing for about an inch when turned from center.

Toe settings are a personal preference to a certain extent. Some like very precise, responsive steering and turn in and some find that too nervous.
The Tesla toe 'spec' is wide so from the factory it could be to your liking or not. That's why you should get it checked with a good alignment specialist and have it set to your liking.

I have the exact same feeling on my 2024 MYLR. I have tried all steering modes, which doesn't change this behavior. I have to make a service appt, but if they can't find anything or fix it, I may not have the vehicle very long. It is that uncomfortable for me on any highway driving.

Ask them to check alignment, toe issues can easily cause a car to feel unstable, and some Teslas had bad alignment from the factory or maybe one of the delivery drivers hit a curb.
