Arrow pointing down on maps

Anyone know why the map navigation arrows points down.
I can pinch and flip but then it recalibrates to pointing down while driving.

If you tap the screen it will bring up some options. One of those is a toggle to have either North up or the direction in which you're going up.

I was trying to find those options. For some reason I couldn’t find it.

On my 22ms I click the compass symbol on the lower left on the map

It will flip if you drive it to Australia.
