Manual says to clean &lubricate brakes every 12,500 miles if in area of salted roads. I live in Sacramento area and car never driven out of area. Is this maintenance necessary in my area? If so, how often is recommended?

The guide pins get corroded and they clean them and lubricate in areas of salted roads. Every 2 years Tesla wants to check the brake fluid for moisture and they use a test strip for that. I would perform that during the 2 year fluid check just as preventive maintenance. They also check brake pads for wear at that time but brake wear should be minimal. The inspection and lubrication is very reasonably priced.
