Isn't it because people are waiting for the German EV subsidies and Mercedes is waiting to sell in 2020 for some EU emissions credits?
A similar car, Audi etron, is selling really well. It sold over 15000 just in Europe last year and another 5000+ in the US.
It actually outsold Model S & X combined, in Europe.
So I don't really understand why EQC will not sell well.
The linked article is too brief and shallow to explain anything.

Nice review of EQC. The interior is luxurious.It has heat sink, like many other European EVs. That should help the range in cold weather.
