From a software development perspective, you can break a lot of things and piss off a lot of people if you change IDs which are assumed to be immutable and unchanging. I'm guessing there was an issue and they reverted to the previous IDs so as not to break anything downstream.
It's strange though - it's quite common for them to change the IDs shortly after commissioning (e.g. grey pin for Prawda was originally at Reynolds and so it changed from "reynoldsmbsupercharger" to "prawdambsupercharger"). But it's the change back which is unusual!
