Vinyl wrapping a spoiler

I am considering installing a spoiler for the most dad reason ever: to prevent the hatch from scratching if it hits a low ceiling (it almost happened the other day).

Getting the top notch OEM spoiler would be the overkill to end all overkills, so I am thinking about getting a more affordable aftermarket unit and vinyl wrap it for an added layer of protection.

Anybody has any experience wrapping a spoiler? Any things to consider? Would it be best to wrap before installing or after installing?

Unless you’re also looking to add a spoiler for other reasons, I’d probably suggest just wrapping the hatch itself with Xpel, STEK, etc.

That said, my OEM spoiler was wrapped when I had the full car done and it came it nicely. I’m glad someone else did it though.
