TMC members are receiving word that their Model 3 vehicles built after June 4 will have a wireless charging pad and USB-C ports.

Tesla also offers a $125 upgrade charging pad upgrade for older Model 3 vehicles.

During the downtime for the factory due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tesla said it was making upgrades to streamline production. It’s possible that the transfer of new tech to older vehicles was part of that effort. The Model 3 and Model Y already share about 75 percent of the same parts.
