If there’s a Model 3 delivery to get excited about, it’s the bright red version that was handed over yesterday to TMC Member Graniteds.
Last month he shared the following on the forum:
“Well, I’d love to see November deliveries! i have a terminal stage 4 cancer and have been told I may only 3-4 months to live. The last thing on my bucket list is our Model 3 and I’d like to have a few days to experience and enjoy it. I wonder if there is any flexibility in the que?”
With delays and little flexibility in the queue, the prospect of Graniteds receiving his delivery in time was not looking good. That was until TMC member Bonnie went to work trying to fulfill Graniteds dying wish. She shared the backstory of that effort on Twitter.
First, she arranged a Model 3 test drive for Graniteds on November 25.

She shared photos and Graniteds story with Tesla on November 26. And, the next day he was invited to configure a car.
4) I sent the photos and story to #Tesla on 11/26. A few mountains were moved. And the very next day, he was asked to configure his Model 3. 🙂

Yesterday, Graniteds visited Tesla’s Fremont delivery center to pick up his Model 3. He also received a private factory tour and a walkthrough of the car from TMC member Jon McNeil, Tesla President of Sales and Services.

Following the special day, Bonnie posted to TMC:
I wish you all could have shared in the experience today. We all were tearing up at different points. Seeing Jon walking along, deep in conversation, carrying the oxygen generator while walking and talking … everyone throughout Tesla lit up with smiles, it was amazing. (The private tour went so long that we ran the golf cart (non-Tesla) battery dry. hahah. That was awesome.)
Thanks for the kudos – it truly took a village to make this happen the way it did. And my heart is full just to have been a part of it. And I’ve made a couple of new friends that I’ll be visiting in the next month.
