    Lock keys in car

I used to do this while surfing in my older Model S. Just make sure wherever you park the car has a good data connection. If you are in an area where the car is "offline", you will not be able to unlock it with the app (ask me how I found this out...). Other than that, it is a great hack to...

Adding a hitch for a bike rack to a Model S

I am just not sure why anyone would want a non-removable hitch on this car? Unless you plan on leaving a bike rack on all the time, but that would bottom out all the time too.

Show us your Aftermarket Stereo Mods

Not going to get into an argument here, but there is no way $30 speakers from Amazon are going to sound better than the OEM especially when you placed them in worse locations than the OEM locations. You placed the mid-range down by your shins when the OE is at the bottom of the A Pillar, more...

    Leather wrap for yoke

@Hotboy408 did you ever finish this? I am on my second Yoke and warranty just ran out, so I might be looking to wrap mine soon since this one has a nick in it and it's starting to spread.

    Trailer hitch on 2021 refresh?

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

How could you have know this since 2012 when both Android Auto and Apple Car Play were introduced in 2015 and 2014 respectively? Are you implying that technologies that did not exist when the Model S first launched, we should not expect to be added as features to the latest Model S? I am only...

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

I was speaking more generally to the fact someone made the suggestion of strapping an iPad to the dash. I could care less about Apple Music (Android user here), but the fact that Tesla does not open up the OS to add apps that most cars have today is mind blowing.

    Wiki 2021+ Model S Refresh - Missing/Incomplete Software Features

There is clearly a technology integration gap when someone asks for a slick solution to add an iPad to a high-res 17in display already in the car.

    Model S Trailer Hitch Installation

In case anyone is interested in a Torklift and lives in SoCal, I have one that was never installed on my 2020 (I sold that car and got a 2022 and put the OE Model X hitch on that car). Send me a DM.

    My Tesla Model S Plaid

    - Unless you are using it to JTK. - Settings are much more easily changed in the ALP App and uploaded via Bluetooth module. - This is quite literally what the control pad offers. JTK (Jam to Kill) is 4 seconds automatically (also configurable, mine is 3 seconds), but if you hit either of the...

    My Tesla Model S Plaid

Why would you put your ALP control panel in a place where you have to reach up and through your steering wheel to use it? (I guess that is why you feel the need to have a separate kill switch.)

    My Tesla Model S Plaid

your car, your prerogative but that does not look good. How often do you make adjustments to the sub level? Maybe just put that inside the console? Also, why did you choose to use a rocker switch for the ALP instead of the nice little control pad to JTK?

Front License Plate Holder on refreshed Model S

Yours must have been a one-off because I find it very hard to believe that one of these that was put on correctly from the factory could ever fall off. There is a ridiculous amount of two sided tape in addition to two screws on the bottom. While it can be removed with heat, fishing line and...

Glad to help! I am on 2023.26.8 (No FSD) as well, but I am fairly certain this came out at least two updates ago (maybe more) because I have been using this for a while. Also helpful to mute/unmute while on a call, the Green "answer" Phone Icon turns to Mute while you are on the call.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

It's this right here ^ Michelin has nothing to do with it, just happen to be the OE suppler of the 21" tires. I have had 3 Model S's all with 22' wheels, all ran Continental ExtremeContact DWS and all failed at the inner edge long beofre there was any real wear on the rest of the tire. On my...

    2016 / 2017 Model S option values

I'd say if you have not been able to buy a car in 7 months of searching, you have not been able to "successfully subtract from the asking price". The inventory of 16/17 Model S's in Southern California is about as large as you will find anywhere in the world. So if you have not been able to...

AL Priority & Net Radar Laser Install on Plaid or LR?

I always pull up my ALP app and set my phone on the wireless charger when I get in the car. The connection is not perfect and sometimes I have to close the app and reopen it to connect to my ALP, but for me it's workable and I still do not feel the need to install the speaker in the car. As...

AL Priority & Net Radar Laser Install on Plaid or LR?

OK, so this thread got me motivated to finish the install last night. I still need to install the rear NetRadar and route that to the frunk, but for now I have front NetRadar mounted behind the bumper, on top of the crash bar just inboard of the driver's headlight. Then I have two regular RX...

AL Priority & Net Radar Laser Install on Plaid or LR?

I noticed you crossposted in another thread and thought I would jump back in here. AL Priority & Net Radar Laser Install on Plaid or LR?

I have had ALP with NetRadar on all three of my Model S's and currently have it half way installed on my 2022. SoCal uses very little lidar, but a lot of radar, so I prioritized installing the NetRadar. The rest of the system is sitting in the frunk waiting to be routed and installed. As...

Totaled 2020, replace with '23... what will I like and hate?

I sold my 2020 Raven LR+ for a 2022 Model S and it is a night and day better car. Way faster, much nicer/quieter interior, UI on the new center screen is just more modern and updated (my 2020 looked exactly the same as my 2013). 2023 upgrade to a bigger rear screen?

Model S Plaid Track Package Waiting Room

That is true, but wheel description is the same "2x 20X10J, Zero-G wheels and 2x 20X11J, Zero-G wheels" so I doubt that the track package has Forged Zero G Wheels and the $6K Wheel/Tire package are somehow non-forged Zero G wheels that have the same specs and styling.
