It is an algorithm in the sense that it seeks survival of the fittest (or effectively so).

Again, DNA by itself doesn't "seek" anything. It's blueprints to make proteins.

By using those blueprints to make cells, which in turn form humans, who in turn reproduce using combinatorial sets of two groups of DNA, you can get a process of natural selection which can result in a form of "survival seeking". Populations evolve. Not DNA.

DNA has no thought, no intent.

Meanwhile, back to Elon and Twitter: What are the odds today's semi-successful space-X launch will boost Elon's mood and get him off the topic of trying to literally "label" his political enemies? :)

Actually, this is not entirely correct.

As a molecular biologist, there are structural portions of DNA (introns and other areas) that are completely non-coding for proteins that are critical to directing which proteins are turned on at what time during development, stress, etc.

You are correct that DNA doesn't have "thought" as we know it, but we also know that DNA does code for very patterned behaviors in multiple species, and there is some very interesting research out that Ravens may have a form of genetic memory that they can pass down.
