Opt out of FSD Beta to start getting updates

I was thinking that sometime early this year, if you paid for FSD, you got FSD Beta. The high Safety Score was no longer required for admission. You can always disable FSD Beta in the main console under Autopilot. This is why they are trying to sync the version with the other update branches so they are all in sync together. People with FSD are (were) not getting the "latest" regular updates until the updates were eventually integrated into the separate FSD Beta code.

I do not know if you would be downgraded to the eminent release of 2023.7.5 with 11.4 FSD Beta, or maybe you would get the non-beta FSD (if it still exists) in the current release of 2023.12.9 that would still have two different internal systems: one for highway driving and another for rural - city driving. My bet is they would not downgrade your current code level.

Instead of the latest 11.4 FSD Beta code, Tesla has re-released FSD Beta 11.3.6 on a newer branch. It is now based off of 2023.12. This should get FSD Beta users very close to the latest normal (non-FSD-Beta) features. This ppears to only update other features, whil holding back the 11.3.6 FSD Beta code previously released on April 8,2023 with 2022.45.15 -- the version almost all FSD Beta users are currently on. This 2023.12 version seems to be going out now over the next week or two.

I’ve been stuck on 2022.45.15 for a while now as that is supposedly the latest for FSD beta.

FSD beta is entertaining for sure but that’s about it. I’ve seen a few updates I’d like to get.

If I just change it from FSD beta to Auto Pilot Beta that’s all I need to do, right?

I switched it a few days ago and still nuttin.

Is there anything else I need to do?

My car is a Model S LR Refresh 2022.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’ll give them until beginning of the month and if no updates I’ll try to get out of FSD

I’ve emailed both and never heard back. Trying to get the spring update. Kinda crazy there isn’t some better way to manage this. A toggle in the app or Tesla profile would solve it.
That e-mail address hasn't been monitored in years. It's only canned/automated responses. You are on the track that Tesla wants you to be on. That's all there is to it.

Okay, how do you know those aren’t monitored?

I also don’t agree with the “you are on the track Tesla wants you to be on”. It’s my car. I don’t want to be a beta tester for them anymore and get old UX updates. There has to be some official way out of the FSD beta button group.

Because I've been a tester since they set up that mailbox. They haven't responded to people in over a year...opting out, issues, etc. They used to respond immediately. It's a black hole. Elon even spoke about it on JRE. When the testing pool was small, e-mail was efficient, but he said it became unsustainable and that's when the FSD "button" was introduced.

It's not up for debate, that's how Tesla operates. The only way to get on the main track is to cancel a subscription to FSD. If you put in a service ticket, they will say you have the latest update for your car. Beta testers have been trying to get off the Beta track for 2 years and outside of getting rid of the car or transferring FSD (when available) there's been no luck an owner can do. Sometimes testers get shifted to another group, like the mainline, but there's no rhyme or reason. I have 1 car in the first release group and another in the back of the line, but both on the "Beta track" of updates and have been since 2021.

There’s no Beta track anymore, so nothing to opt out of. All versions of FSD are FSD Supervised, which is the new name for FSD Beta. The spring update includes the latest FSD, so having FSD won’t prevent you from getting the new build (when it’s your turn).

Correct. There’s the regular FSD’ers and the Early Access FSD’ers. Those who are early access are still on 2024.3.25, waiting for FSD 12.4 on 2024.9.x build.
You missed my point. When the FSD Beta started, you had to request access, and if you didn’t your FSD was the “non-Beta” version, which was basically EAP with a few additions. Now all versions of FSD are the City Streets version. Are you defining “Early Access FSD’ers” as anyone who requested access to FSD Beta?

I still believe you can’t opt out of anything at this point.

Early access FSD-ers are the early group (myself among them) who requested access to the beta… early on in the program. I’m not sure exactly when Tesla separated the groups based on activation date, but e.g. if you requested access today you’d be in the 2024.14.x FSD group. Those people won’t get 12.4 as soon as the early folks.

There's still different software paths. There are testers, which are held back from the main release to test new FSD versions and the main track of updates.

Same here. I'm always pleased now when I get the new FSD version about as fast as it appears. Sort of makes up for the pain we went through with the early versions.
