yes, you can disable the chime in the phone settings. Touch the Bluetooth icon in the top right of the screen to quickly pull it up.

Update: it took a mobile tech being on site working with the remote support engineers to get my SiriusXM back online. I’m happily back in business now.

Just pointing out the obvious here, but make sure you weigh the benefits of the financial incentives against having to use a plug adapter with a non-Tesla home charger.

The trigger to open the Tesla’s garage door needs to come from the car’s geolocation, not your phone as you already know. I’m not sure how you’re going to do this without a cumbersome hack. I’d recommend spending the $300 on the homelink - it’ll just work. Lots of others go to great lengths...

I’ve always looked at the $10 as covering Tesla’s bandwidth costs. In addition to traffic and satellite, features like music streaming, video streaming, and web browsing are use lots of bandwidth and are covered by the fee.

All 12V batteries have a finite life. They work great until suddenly they fail. Occurs the same way in ICE cars.

I agree that it’s unclear what you’re trying to do here. If you want automated opening/closing of your garage door as you arrive/leave then buy the homelink module. No telling when (or IF) something else will be coming nor whether said new feature would actually be compatible with your MyQ setup.

For what it’s worth, I do believe they are interested in a long term relationship- but not through swag, phone calls, or emails. Instead, they continue to release new features for the car you already purchased. This is a pretty big differentiator from traditional auto manufacturers.
