I choose to believe that publications like...
  • The Wall Street Journal
  • Business Insider
  • Market Watch
  • The New York Times
... don't **** around with money or advertisers getting anywhere close to their journalists.

I mean, the WSJ took down Theranos while the publication's owner had a massive stake in the company.

The idea that there's some grand conspiracy that includes "big media" is just pure Trumpism.

Conspiracies don’t have to be grand. They can involve just a few people and even a mediocre amount of money.

Do you really not understand that?

Do you ever watch the news?

And I bet you would find that most at these forums are supportive of true journalism.

Most of us are techies, engineers, and scientists. We are not conspiracy theorists.

Go to the Flat Earth forum for that.

I get that conspiracies can be very simple and have a low amount of money.

... but what evidence is there? What evidence that Linette took money from Chanos and paid Tripp?

Isn't it simpler that Tripp was a moron, voluntarily leaked documents to Business Insider, got caught, and was fired?

So you're saying that Business Insider committed libel then? They printed something factually untrue when they referred to "internal documents"?

And Tesla should sue them, right?

Come on guys...

Starting to seem like this forum is going full-blown conspiracy mode.

???
Technically, they recieved the document, how would they confirm it is true before publishing? Did they confirm it was true? Any econd source? Or did they (she) just print whatever they were handed?
And before you go all appeal to authority or she's so great, recall what happened to Dan Rather. Past performance is no indication of future correctness.

Business Insider defends their reporter:

Musk already firing back:

The answer why she won't go on record:

Because she has no obligation to do so?

Here, watch: are you guys 100% certain that Elon Musk has legal US immigration status? Why won't he go on record and say he's legal status? Why won't he post his immigration documents?

If Elon doesn't reply, it means he must not be here legally.

... Or, he has no obligation to respond?

Taking a page from the Obama birthers?

Elon Musk became a US citizen with 3500 other people at the Pomona Fairgrounds in 2002. His mother could claim US citizenship by birth. Her father was a native of Minnesota who moved to Canada before she was born. She has probably claimed her American citizenship at this point (she moved to the US in the 90s and has been working as a model here), but she probably hadn't at the time of Elon's birth.

Everyone else, you can argue but you can't insult. --ggr.

If someone here wanted to dig in on this further, there is some remnants of code and other stuff scattered around using the name 'martytripp'.

Timestamps on most of it show creation either last year or the year before.

Follow the link at the bottom of this tweet for one example.

Great, wire shark is for network snooping.

All the networks want Elon to go on. It would be ratings gold.

Elon should ignore completely.

He must go on a YouTube show and control the response (just as he’s doing with twitter) they want to profit from.

He should drive them to quote from Elon’s desired “news” outlet.

Perfect opportunity for him to continue reaching the biggest audience which obviously the desperate networks (and business insider crowd) do not have at all.

Go to the big massive target audience, which is and always has been the internet viewers/listeners. That audience is way bigger then the legacy audience and they can’t stand it.
