Star Trek’s holodeck might come sooner than you think. Dall-E can now draw pictures from spoken texts. It would not be a stretch got it to make them in 3D or even whole sceneries/stories in 3D just from spoken texts.
What if you can show students the events of what happened at the battle of Waterloo for instance by actually reliving it or even participating in it. How would this revolutionize education?

It isn't a stretch to think that the technology would evolve over time so that you don’t need a headset but that everything is projected into a room just like the holodeck.

Seems unlikely that Tesla would make this a consumer product. However, Elon has not been complimentary on Vision Pro.

If it's for collecting data it'd make no sense as a consumer product.

Why put, for example, a 4k HDR display in something to COLLECT data? Or top-end audio either?
