Bought a lovely 2015 MS, but now panoramic stuck

Hello everybody!

First time poster, unfortunately with a problem.

I bought a lovely used 2015 model S (was aiming for a model with free SuC). the interior is greatly preserved not to mention the driving experience. I only have the car for a few days thou...
But now I have a stuck panoramic roof.

The first time I tried the roof was 2 days ago and it seems to work fine. Then I accidentally press the Open button while driving on a highway ~ 80mph. As it was raining I closed it right away - could that cause any issues, operating it at such speed?
Then, the next day, I tried it again and it would not open fully. It opened like a few inches and stopped. Had to press Open a few times but same repeated. Moved a few inches and stopped. When I then pressed Close it worked fine. One thing I noticed during opening was a strange "rattling" sound from motor. Like "clicking", hard to explain and unable to record it now (see below why).
After a few hours I tried again. Same thing, opened a few inches and stopped. I then did not want to push it and went to Close straight away. Horror. It would not move a bit. On the screen it was showing like its moving, but its now. Also whats strange is there is absolutely NO sound from the motor.

Questions.

Could the rattling sound be from a motor's gear skipping and eventually went RIP? Or is that somekinda safety feature to prevent failures?
I found that different cars have a dedicated screw somewhere which can be turned and making it manually close it? Does Tesla MS also have that?
How can I find out if my car is pano 1.0 or 2.0? Accoring to free data found it was manufactured right around mid july 2015, which is about the time they started with panoramic 2.0. But how to know from looking at the roof itself?

Is there anything I can do to make it close? I just want to close it for now so I can use the car. will go to Tesla when possible.

Thank you a lot.

Help adjusting coilovers

Hi friends, I installed ST XA coilovers 2 weeks ago. I’ve been trying to make all 4 corners even with a 1.5” drop or at least make the fronts even and backs even, but the task seems impossible. Whenever I raise or lower one wheel, the other 3 wheels will raise or lower an unpredictable amount and I never know if it will be raised or lowered. How did you go about leveling all 4 corners when adjusting one corner drastically changes other corners? Here are the best numbers I was able to get so far just randomly raising and lowering at arbitrary amounts:
Perch height/Fender to top of rim height in mm
Driver Front 126/130.8
Passenger Front: 115.1/135.1
Passenger Rear 44.4/133.4
Driver Rear: 44/140.5

The fronts tend to raise and lower together, for example raising the driver front 3mm will also raise the passenger front 2mm. Seems like I keep chasing evenness, but can never achieve. Then the rears also change, which also affects the front. Please help, what are your strategies? This seems to be more of a Tesla specific issue with the incredibly rigid frame, I hadn’t had this problem on my 94 Honda Prelude with coilovers.

Australian Model 3 highland accessories

Howdy.
As the model 3 highland refresh roll out is in full swing i thought i would create a separate thread for highland specific accessories so the discussion can be moved from the model 3 waiting thread so it can stay on track.
During my wait for my 2024 m3 i started buying accessories and charging equipment from various places. In the following posts ill describe them.
I encourage everyone to post their findings and interoperability of parts from 2023 to 2024+ models so we can all learn together.
I especially encourage people to check our supporting vendors for accessories too!

Highland Range

Hi folks.....very happy with the Highland range so far. I've been consistently averaging under 200 Wh/mile around town for the first month.....highway driving at 75 to 80, closer to 240 Wh/mile.....significantly better than my 2018.

Today I had to do some highway driving, charged up to 100% before I left. Car BMS showed 333 mile range at full charge. After a few minutes driving I happened to check consumption for kicks, at my previous 30 mile average I was over 400 miles expected range. By the time I ripped out my phone to take a pic it had dropped under 400, but dang not bad!

Also, decided to do a battery size calculation when I returned.....attached the consumption pic, by my calculations it's showing 77.6 kW battery size, sound about right?? Loving this car.

Is it time to dump and run?

I was prepared to stay with Tesla for a good while. Even though I cannot stand Elon.

I keep reading more and more about Elon firing left and right.

I suspect we’ll stop seeing software updates soon and soon it will be hard to get parts.

Elon looks like he is giving up and putting all chips on robotaxi and FSD.

I was hoping for an S/X based on all the updates in cybertruck.

Looking at Lucid Gravity but that won’t be available for a while. And they are not in great financial shape.

Range and efficiency is crap on so many EV’s

100% range on new Model Y LR with 3 miles on it calculates to 301 miles

I just took delivery of my Model Y Long Range a couple hours ago and brought up with the sales associate that the max range calculates to 301 miles and not 310 miles. The outside temperature is 55F. I could swear I've never seen temperature affect the mileage vs percentage before. Did I get a lower range than advertised? I would think with no driving history and fresh off the truck, it would register as the 310 miles.

Supercharger team sacked?

Interesting news/rumour from Electrek today saying Tesla has sacked its ~500 strong Supercharger team. Apparently they will finish building the sites in progress, but no new ones will be going in.

I’m a bit puzzled by this one and can’t work out what’s going on with Musk. They have a big lead in charging and could quite happily take the charging crown in a number of countries, but now seem to be rowing away from this? Curious that this has also happened at the same time as Tesla have opened a whole bunch of UK SuCs to all vehicles.

I can’t decide whether I’d like to know what goes on in Musk’s head!

Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Hi All,

Not sure if ‘allowed’ or worthwhile but thought I’d start an Australian ‘Model 3 Waiting Room’, as all responses with the LR thread I’ve been viewing appear to be from our US friends. So feel free to join and contribute here, and hopefully assist in consoling our fellow impatient purchasers (me)! 😁

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

Actually it's not a matter of a game in my opinion.
CO2 produced by ICE cars is responsible of temperature increasing in the world. As temperature increases ice at the North pole melts. As ice melts the salt concentration in the sea decreases. As the salt concentration in the sea decreases the current of the Channel decreases. When the current of the Channel will stop the North side of the Earth will get frozen.
Have you seen the film "The day after tomorrow"?
This film shows what will happen when the current of the Channel will stop. So driving pure electric is useful to save the Earth.

Do you still want to game?

2024 Model 3 ambient light alignment

Has anyone tweaked the alignment of their 2024 model 3 doors to fix a mis-aligned ambient light strip? Mine is very slightly off on both sides, the passenger side having a pretty sizable gap as well, and I'd like to fix it if I can.

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

I decided to create this thread as a more focused variation of the Option Trading and Advice thread, with that focus on the option strategy known as The Wheel.

The thing to understand up front - I'm not a financial advisor, nor am I particularly expert in options trading. So far my experience is almost completely in the options selling side. My forays into option buying either ended in large losses, or are currently losing (index puts). But the option selling has worked great for me!

My first and strongest recommendation - if you're new to options trading, or haven't studied it systematically, then I commend the training here:
Free Options Trading Course from Option Alpha | Option Alpha

This took me about 30 hours to go through all of it (1.25x speed worked great for me). And I urge you not to skimp.

This is both general option trading education, along with education about a particular option trading strategy (selling volatility). You're going through that material for the general education, and you'll pick up information about that particular strategy at the same time (it happens to make use of the same edge in the market as The Wheel).

From here on, I'm assuming the level of knowledge conveyed in that linked education.

Here's a link to the FAQ / Glossary thread.

Duurzame Energie, Warmtepomp, Zonnepanelen, nulwoningen e.d.

- nog minder minder knoppen/stalks;
- ingebouwde wireless charging voor twee telefoons;
- lijkt strakker te rijden op FSD;
- hoge instap;
- scherm horizontaal, beter voor films.

Wennen
- andere bediening

Negatieve verschillen
- deur portieren;
- geen dashboard, tenzij goede after market oplossing is dit misschien dealbreaker;
- te klein scherm.

Considering Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Over Pirelli P Zeros - Seeking Advice and Experiences

I am currently running Pirelli P Zero tires. However, after doing some research, I found that the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S lasts longer, is more comfortable, and is cheaper while offering almost the same performance. I'm considering getting these for my next set. What other tires do you all recommend besides the $430 P Zeros?

Additionally, I found someone selling mildly used P Zeros for $200 each, but they are 88Y load instead of 92Y, which is what Tesla stock runs. I'm not sure if this difference matters much.

BMS_u031 - Battery fuse requires replacement soon - Some questions...?

Hello All,

Seems like several threads on this warning, but wanted to confirm some specifics and latest information:

1. My S is P100D, 2016.5, I scheduled service, but the nearest appointment available to me is over a month away! With this error, is the car actually safe to drive? Or should I be sidelined for until Tesla makes time for me? Should I drive with some precautions?

2. Can anyone confirm if Tesla will cover part or all of this repair under the 8 year battery warranty? I've read both ways. What's the latest?

3. If not covered by the Tesla battery warranty, do any of the 3rd parties cover this like CarShield or XCare?

4. Anything else I need to know?

Thank you all!
