wow, total speculation here but, it sounds like either:
- they cant afford to clear their trades, so dialing it back by going down the list of most active across their base
- they're working through and covering large amounts of erroneous trades and taking huge PnL from allowing trading of orders that should never have made it past heir risk management system to begin with (because it wasnt fast enough to keep up with those volatile stocks and options their base was trading)
- or...all of the above

50 names on the RH list CNBC just said - quoted RH syaing has to do with volatility...SBUX and AMD only down 1-2%
im sticking with above speculation, which would not be good - i hope its not the case, if only for the millions of accounts there

Ok so can someone help clear up what the issues with Robinhood is? My kids which are new to investing have some holdings in Robinhood and have some funds in process being moved to Robinhood. Can they lose these funds/investments? If you can move investments out of Robinhood how do you do that?

If you were just holding you are not affected.

[edit]Unless you were holding GME. Allegedly, some people had theirs sold for them, especially those on margin.

The biggest risk of loss is owning a stock that’s worth $10 that’s priced at 300. Because once all the short sellers have bought back there’s shares, that thing is going to head down hard and fast. Right now the shorts are still getting screwed and there is still plenty of short interest. But we have no idea how long this will continue.

Every stock on the hit list was probably undervalue due the shorts before all the speculation. So they’re very interesting. There’s still a lot of short interest in many of them and a squeeze can still happen. This is gambling.

The list of restricted stocks on Robinhood is astonishing.

For those who aren’t familiar, Robinhood is only letting folks buy 1 share of GME. That’s one share TOTAL for the account, not per transaction. If you already have >= one share, you can’t buy another. o_O

why in the world is AMD on that list? They were at an all time high recently without wallstreetbets involvement, are they a WSB target now?

Misdirection. Pick a bunch of stuff to cast a wide net to confuse the market at large. AMD and Starbucks is in there even though earnings concluded. LOL

Everyone knows its
AMC
BB
GME
NOK
SPCE

etc
