Is this Pause button on opening the boot new? I've not noticed it before.

My wife drives so close to the curb that if I could put a finger between a wheel and the curb, it would get squashed.
She does however frequently remind me that she has never kerbed a wheel. Bugger!
My wife also goes very close to the curb a lot. Most of the time she gets away with it but bot always ;) She struggles to understand the space needed for the car so on a tighter road with cars coming other way she's too far over. It'll still be wide enough to get a tank in the gap but not to her.

I normally see updates fairly early on but not this time (maybe because my car didn’t get used for 6 weeks while we were overseas).

After more than four years of Tesla I’ve become quite ambivalent about getting updates as there’s rarely anything substantial to look forward to (new visuals aren’t going to excite me & although I had the matrix light update before going away I won’t try them until they are actually needed, maybe months away).

However I’ve seen rumours about possible Amazon music support in the future and this is the one thing that I really would like to see.

I feel this has been the longest wait as well. I used to get the updates pretty much in couple of weeks time once they were mentioned on social media - this time not the case and I am not sure which version to expect anymore…

I would definitely welcome most of the improvements around the UI.

After helping my neighbour setup their Kia I can't help but be jealous of Android Auto, I feel like I've bought an Apple "Walled garden" product in comparison. This is where other companies have better integration with smartphones. I think Tesla needs to do more around this because the next car wars is software.
It would be a big consideration if/when I change cars, even if manufacturer updates stopped I'd still get Android Auto updates to future-proof it more.
I think I've gone off the taste of the Tesla Kool-Aid 🫣 .

I half agree, half don't on this. I think for an ICE, all cars should have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as they don't need a lot of integration between the navigation and the car's drivetrain but on an EV it's different.

The nav needs to understand your driving style, your consumption and make intelligent decisions on if you'll make it to your destination or if you need a charging stop. It needs to workout if it should pre-heat the battery or not. By having all users using Tesla navigation they can do things like their new on-route to Supercharger stats in the car. There's a lot of other things I'm sure they probably do that we aren't even aware of.

In theory all of this would be possible with CarPlay and Android Auto but they need API's for this stuff so they can be aware of what's going on with the car to make decisions properly. They don't exist currently and of course if you let Apple and Google control this with their API's, car makers will be bound by their release schedules to add new stuff.

So yes in theory choice is good but Tesla forcing us to use their own system does I think give us a better experience overall when it comes to how the car works based on navigation data.

It's a big leap from updating of Android Auto apps like Waze, Maps, Spotify etc to software updates that affect the operation of the car. I did miss Android Auto for a while when I first got my Tesla but to be honest I'm not sure what functionality I'd ever use on it any more, even if it were available. I'd be inclined to look more closely at software and updates related to the car itself before moving to another car.
