    Still hate v11

One thing I can’t get used to are the controls that require a steady finger such as the fan control. For instance, I always seem to hit a bump and end up turning the fan to 8 when I want 2. Older cars that tried going this route ended up putting in a pad for resting your wrist. Not my ideal...

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

I ask this in all sincerity. What do people see as the benefits of the new UI? After a month and a half of driving with it I honestly don’t see any improvements. And if can ask another question, do you see a benefit from devoting about a third of the screen to the virtual driving environment? I...

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Close to my experience. My third BMW was a 2006 325 (even though the engine was 2.8 liters) with sport suspension. Great handling! All around good car until I went to check the oil after a few months of ownership. No dipstick?!? It had turned into an unreliable digital readout. I decided...

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

This was the basis of my complaint to NHTSA.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Next stop after posting this is NHTSA. I am now convinced there are dangerous elements in V11. And I happen to think ”input is preference”.

    Suspension installation cost

I just used P Tuning in Manassas to install MPP lower control arm bearings and do an alignment. About $550 for labor. I was pleased with their knowledge and service. There was a little bit of grinding necessary for the install and they showed and explained it to me before doing any modifying.

How Long Would Battery Last? [hypothetical - sitting in gridlock]

A few years ago I was stuck in a snowstorm not moving for about four hours. That was in my Model S. I knew I was in a snowstorm (the falling snow was the giveaway) and so had charged up to 80% about 30 miles before getting stopped by a jack knifed semi. With the heater used intermittently I seem...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I don’t know but I like them on black cars. Reminds me the John Player Special Formula 1 cars.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Third update on my "concious compromise". I have 3000 miles on the new tire/wheel combo now and am pleased - although I did change my driving style a bit when attacking curvy roads aggressively. (Michelin Pilot Sport 4 TO 235/45-18 on Martian Wheels MW03 18x7.5 +20). The set up has worked out...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I didn’t just go for the range. It was a conscious compromise between protection, comfort, noise, and performance. The range has taken less than 5 percent hit so far. When I was younger I Would go for maximum grip over other factors. As I’ve aged or I prefer, mellowed, I still like new...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Hmm, interesting. I hadn’t thought about it because I was set on getting the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 TO tires. i had regular Pilot Sports on my Model S and after about 10,000 miles they got annoyingly noisy. I am counting on the TO (Tesla only) tires being quieter. So far so good. ‘I would...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

One other thing. I think they look great and I have gotten compliments. Pushing the wheels out just a tad with the +20 offset makes up for the smaller width.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

This is my second update. The first one had more detail about the set up. I am basically interested in whether I made the right decision to go with 7.5 inch wide wheels instead of the OE 8.5 so that is what I was trying to discern in my driving. After about 700 miles I am overall happy with...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

The 18x7.5 has a +20 offset while the OE 18x8.5 and most of the 19 inch wheels have a +35 offset. I’m looking this set up a lot and will do an update when I get a few hundred more miles on them.
