Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

I recently had a headlight (with burned out DRL) replaced (with G revision) under warranty. Now, I can’t help but notice that the older headlight is more yellow and less bright…but it’s not burned out. I’m thinking I’ll try my luck to see if they’ll replace it under warranty before my coverage...

    Tesla no longer uncorking vehicles?

After having my 9/16 75D for nearly 2 years, the 4th try was the charm. Sent my car to the SC to get a recall item checked (hood latch), and to fix a door handle plus replace a headlight with burned out DRL (thankfully covered on my soon-to-expire used car warranty that I didn't even know I had...

    Tesla no longer uncorking vehicles?

I have a Sept 2016 MS 75D and was initially told it was eligible but 3 failed attempts later, I was told it didn’t have the right battery “shunt”. That was over a year ago. In the back of my mind, I’m still skeptical and think I just haven’t had the right person. I guess I should try again bc...

    0 to 60 uncork

If I had a way of knowing for sure that upgrading to MCU2 would enable my 9/16 75D (153xxx) to be uncorked, I’d drop that cash in a second. After 3 failed attempts a year ago, I gave up (even though the SC said it should’ve qualified based on my VIN). I was later told by a ranger that it...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

It’s an unacknowledged defect for sure, but once the 4-year warranty expires, it’s $1500 each with labor. If anyone knows different, please advise.

    60D/70D upgrade to 75D?

During the 3rd failed uncorking attempt, the remote tech said it doesn’t have the necessary battery “shunt”.

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

It’s disappointing that Tesla won’t own up to this obvious defect. In absence of an enhanced warranty program to cover this, Tesla should at least add a button to a future software update that allows drivers to turn their DRL eyebrows completely off (as opposed to just Range Mode that only turns...

    All used 75D uncorked?

Note to self: Avoid posting after drinking beer on an empty stomach, especially if there’s no delete button.

    All used 75D uncorked?

If the idea is that my battery pack would have to be dropped to access the battery shunt to make some kind of physical change with a wire, then that sounds like game over for my uncorked dreams. If so, I can live with that...even at 5.2, I love my Model S more today than the day I bought it...

    Correction: battery “shunt”

    All used 75D uncorked?

Just had my third (failed) uncorking attempt. Remote tech said it was missing hardware. I asked if it was the pyrofuse and he said “no”...he described the missing hardware as a “shint” in the battery pack. He said it looked like it was going to “take” at first, but an error message appeared near...

DRL Yellowing Issue - Blown LED or FW?

One of my DRLs went out recently and I’m concerned that even if I pay $1500 to replace, the new one will be brighter than the older...and replacing both of them for $3000 is more than anyone should have to spend on a car less than 5 years old with fewer than 50,000 miles. Since this is a defect...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

Forgot to mention that, during my second, failed uncorking attempt (with a remote tech), he said a technical bulletin about uncorking was issued in January ‘21, but he didn’t recall the details offhand...and it seemed clear to me that he wasn’t going to share more. Does anyone have any contacts...

    2016 75D - CPO with a major heart-wrenching issue

I bought mine from a third party without any claim about 4.2 seconds. From what I’ve gathered, in addition to a firmware update, uncorking my car would also require a hardware update: “Field Kit Pyro Fuse Pack 2.0” (part # 1084549-00-F). I already confirmed that my “BMS_iSensorProtocolNumber”...
