    OEM Replacement Tire Alternatives?

Update on the Goodyears: 320 Wh/mi so far after 1400 miles and they have firmed up with the heat cycles, so I'd say they are 90% as stiff as the OEM Continentals. They remain very quiet to drive on despite no foam inserts (as expected).

light hearted request... your car name? - and why

My P3D- is named "FutureCar" - because I felt like I skipped 10 years into the future of automotive development. In reality, the automotive industry was clearly 10 years behind where they should have been.

    OEM Replacement Tire Alternatives?

I have a P3D- and I just put the Goodyear Exhilarate on the stock 19" wheels. Prior to these I had the OEM Continentals, and prior to that I had the stock 18" wheels with Michelins. Here are my observations so far: 18" OEM Michelins (294 Wh/mi) - I really liked these tires, but my wife hated...

Tips for winning 1/8 mile street legal races?

Questions: 1) should I use track mode? No, it does spin a bit, but doesn't seem to help my times, and if you are bracket racing, will be slightly less consistent due to the spin. 2) does having a passenger affect a lot? Depending on weight, the general rule of thumb is every +100 lbs shaves a...

    P3D+ Acceleration

My best run on firmware: 2019.5.15: [email protected], 1.845 60ft 2019.8.6: [email protected], 1.776 60ft Note, this is on Tesla 19" wheels and stock Continental tires. My best with the stock 18s last fall was [email protected], 1.808 60ft. -AndyW

Poll: Fastest stock setup 0-60 -- Aeros or 20" Sport?

My best is 11.74 with P3D- (I haven't updated my 11.771 on dragtimes yet). The 11.72 on dragtimes is the quickest I've seen, and it's a P3D+. The fact that they are so close, means this is likely wasted effort to discuss, they are pretty much the same in a straight line.

    Aero vs sport wheels

I have a P3D- that I recently upgraded from 18" to 19" wheels (swapped with a friend). 295 Wh/mile on the 18" (avg over 2500 miles), 330 Wh/mile (avg over 300 miles) so far on the 19". Obviously my numbers are higher because I use all the torques, but that's what I've seen so far. YMMV

    P3D+ Acceleration

My results from the dragstrip, both fully charged, run side by side: P85L 60ft = 1.673 [email protected] [email protected] P3D 60ft = 1.843 [email protected] [email protected] Almost all the difference is the initial hit.

    P3D Aero Wheel 0-60?

I ran 11.74 in the 1/4 mile with 18" aeros, so the about same as what I've seen with the 20" wheels. This is not a valid buying decision IMO.

    Any Porsche defectors?

I have a 987.2 Porsche Boxster S. This is the last of the hydraulic power steering, manual transmission, no turbo six cylinder, convertible. In other words, the ideal full experience ICE car from my point of view. I've kept it for now, but if forced to choose now, I'd keep the Model 3P that I...

Is the performance to "easy" to get yourself in trouble

The biggest problem I've had is that sometimes it gets me to places before my brain was expecting it, so it makes me feel a little out of control. My brain is getting used to the speed for the most part now. The traction & stability control are excellent and as long as you keep your wits about...

What Wh/mi are you getting with AWD and P cars?

My Performance 3, 18's aeros, over 1600 miles is at 291 Wh average. That includes drag racing twice and having too much fun on the street, with a mix of freeway and city driving.

Anyone have a Performance model without PUP?

I've got the stealth (non-PUP) performance. The tires are much better than expected and I plan to wear them out and then change to Michelin PS AS3+ tires at that point since this is my all-season commuter. The handling is remarkably good and I'm coming from a Porsche Boxster S. You can feel...
