    Thinking of selling

We have an i3 too, cracking cars - much better for local trips/city driving than the Tesla. We have the tiny 60ah battery, but never experienced range anxiety because it has the range extender too. It's now nearly 9 years old, has been exceptionally reliable, and a car we both forged a genuine...

    New Highland UK - stalks

Great post. @Jules22 - said as someone who's led software development teams for a long time.

    New Highland UK - stalks

I'm in! Like this idea (I imagine a small rounded rocker switch). It doesn't have the visual impact of a full-blown stalk tickling your chest hair, but it's probably a little safer.

    Your M3H 'Stalkless' Driving Experience....

I don't think the stalks situation is comparative to the Blackberry/Apple situation at all. When Apple released the first iPhone it solved a genuine problem: physical keyboards were not adaptive to your context/content, and screen size was severely diminished by a keyboard you may not need to...

    New Highland UK - stalks

I took your idea a step further. A non-rotating stalk on the steering wheel. Don't worry about the safety of it... in the event of an impending accident you can press a button to retract it fully into the steering wheel. The button is in the glovebox.

    2024 Insurance Costs

I can also recommend Admiral, my insurance has remained the same this year as last. They are particularly good if you have more than one car and if you choose to get home insurance with them. For each car/home added, a discount is applied to your policy - so we have 2 cars + home and I think we...

Tesla Model Y - have I made a huge mistake

That kind of experience would make anyone question their choice of buying/leasing an expensive car - especially when there are so many other niggles that came before it. I must admit, you've made me question whether I should sign up for breakdown cover rather than rely on Tesla's roadside...

    New Highland UK - stalks

I work in Product/UX and it appears to me that Tesla's designers seem intent on breaking a UX principle called Fitt's law at every available opportunity: "Fitts's law is used to model the act of pointing, either by physically touching an object with a hand or finger, or virtually, by pointing...

    So… Highland is out…

I love some of the new updates on the M3H (particularly better suspension and reduced cabin noise), but like many others I'm a little worried about the lack of stalks. Indicating aside, my main concern is around the speed and fluency it takes to move between Drive and Reverse. My driveway backs...

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Yeah, it's a good question. I asked the guy if they could push the update to my car to fix. He said only certain Tesla employees have currently got the fix as part of internal testing, and they had to sign all manner of waivers to do so.

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Had my service appointment - was told to wait for 2023.6.1 to fix. The technician said they ran tests by heating the car up: If the steering becomes less 'notchy' at higher temperatures, then it's a firmware issue. (and you need to wait for update) If the steering remains 'notchy', then it's a...

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

I get the same feeling - I've kept my service request logged.

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

I've just spoken to Tesla Service Centre - Milton Keynes, and they informed me they are getting a lot of calls about this issue. As others have said, it's a known software issue, they have prioritised a fix and hope to have a new update released in the next week or so.

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Just updated to 2023.2.12 and same issue. I've only driven in slow rush hour traffic and it was very unpleasant, I can't imagine how bad this is at higher motorway speeds, definitely not safe. I have a M3 LR 2022, Shanghai built (during lockdowns and chip shortages). Wouldn't surprise me if I...

UK 2022 Orders to Delivery inc the shipping thread for posts with no shipping news

The figures can be a little deceiving because if you look at the raw numbers (how many sold), then it's easy to make the assumption the market is in decline, when in fact there is quite a lot of demand but fewer used cars on the market. The average used price has risen nearly 16% over the past...
