Shops able to perform brake fluid changes in Edmonton Alberta?

Book an appointment in the app, then use the messages part of the appointment to ask if they’ll use a specific brake fluid. Even offer to supply the fluid for them. If they decline, then cancel the appointment. I’ve found the Edmonton Service Centre to be very communicative via the messages part...

Shops able to perform brake fluid changes in Edmonton Alberta?

If you’re near Edmonton, any reason you wouldn’t bring it in to the Tesla Service Centre to get it done?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sound advice. Note that @OrthoSurg is Canadian and we Canadians cannot use Personal Capital. I use a spreadsheet to track all our accounts. It takes about one hour once a month to update all our account balances and the various tables and graphs I've created then review them with my wife. We...

    Model X Refresh Canada deliveries

I know the dates aren’t particularly precise. I participated in the Model 3 ramp up 😆. It will come when it comes. Still, would be nice for the upcoming road trip. As for the Ontario Tesla Owners Club, thanks for the mention but you did notice I’m in Alberta?!

    Model X Refresh Canada deliveries

Good to know. Ordered last October. Originally expected May/22, bumped to Sept/22. Now saying Dec 5/22 to Feb 27/23. I was really excited to take our big road trip this July in the Model X but I guess we'll have to settle for our Model 3.

More excuses for legacy. The wiring harness isn't an ICE vs. BEV issue as the headline makes it out to be. It's a "keep doing things the way we've always done" vs. continual innovation issue. The legacy OEMs can, and probably are, using the old wiring harnesses in their BEVs too (i.e. not just...

experience expectation if buying from non-Tesla dealers (Canada)

One thing to caution you about: if you buy used from Tesla or the previous owner, you get to keep FSD if its on the car. Many stories of Tesla turning off FSD when purchasing used through a dealer though. Something to look into if you’re thinking of paying extra for FSD that’s on the car. It...

Wish we had a government with enough of a spine to demand repayment of the $2.6 billion they owe us from the last time we gave them money (2009). Oh, silly me, that’s the “Old Chrysler”.

Must have missed the Cybertruck announcement. Also, forgot to look at the calendar - there's still 8 years to launch another high volume model before the end of the decade.

I expect car sales to drop significantly from 75 million per year by 2030: BEVs lasting 3-4x longer than ICE equivalents. The transition to renewables leads to improved public transit and increased usage. Autonomous vehicles decrease purchases considerably. Many 2 vehicle households drop to 1...

2018 M3 LR Range and Warranty

You still have four years of warranty on the battery and drive train left. To verify, scroll to the bottom of the main screen on your Tesla app on your smartphone. Click on View Details. Then select the Warranty tab. You’ll see the various terms of coverage there. Unless you can find some...

    Luxury Tax - Sept 1, 2022

I thought this was a done deal. Tesla even called me up to try to talk me into switching from a Model X to a Model S Performance in order to beat the rollout of the luxury tax at the end of last year. Happy it's not in place yet. My Model X was supposed to be delivered in May, but has been...

    Actual supercharging cost?

Commercial rates are nothing like residential rates. For commercial electricity, we also pay a demand charge. This is based on our peak power draw in a month (then multiplied by total consumption). My business' consumption rates are about the same as my residential rates, but the demand charges...

    Actual supercharging cost?

Well it's still a lot cheaper than filling up with gas. Here's the most recent page of Supercharging for my 3LR. All charging done since Christmas and all in Alberta. Most of the time I pull in with 10-30% and leave with 85-100% charge, hence the longer charges. Also, factor in that sometimes I...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

On the one hand, I have issues with a robot car being programmed to break the traffic laws. On the other hand I realize this issue has a lot to do with improper signage (so many stop signs should be yield signs), road markings and poor lines of sight. Hard to decide how to deal with this but I’m...
