Enhanced autopilot worth $6k seems to be useless as summon feature is blocked off

Highway is still on old v11 (manual human programming), correct? I'd at least wait to decide until the highway stack is on v12 also (neural nets).

Camping mattress to sleep in Model Y?

I did this, this last Fall for an easy one night and mostly as novelty exploration. Just used an inflatable cheap Coleman mattress. The reason I'm writing is to say, pack your stuff outside of the vehicle in a roof top box or something! The hardest part of the whole thing was realizing I need to...

What is this high pitched cricket like noise?

A well shot YT video explaining it could definitely be helpful. It could be informational too, to attract viewers. For example, I can't hear any of the noise in any of the recordings provided in this thread. I think a really cool aspect of the YT video could be showing how across a wide sample...

    Windshield Defogging issues

You could have an issue with your window as your surmised. Also, depending on the age of your Model S, some of them had a known a problem where the internal vent diverter actuator would get stuck because the track the arm moved in would grind a groove that would inhibit further motion. If you...

Windshield wiper controls are the worst about a Tesla

This complaint from a lot of people is that Tesla actively advertised auto wiper capability, and never delivered it. Sure, Tesla delivered a very, very sub par version (since ~2018-2020 whenever they took away the rain sensor). However, the auto wiper tech has been so standard in the auto...

    “Summon” isn’t so “smart”

"Car was doing what it was supposed to do" Mannnn, I'm so tired of Tesla FSD fanbois criticizing people for expecting the car to do what Tesla and Elon Musk claim it will be able to do on their website and in their speaking for - - years, since at least 2016 now! I mean, even Elon Musk has...

    “Summon” isn’t so “smart”

Summon is trash. Hopefully V12 / (ASS) is better, but I'm doubtful. Someone on Twitter posted their V12 FSD running into a car while parking this or last week.

    Buying a Model Y soon! Wheels/tires?

You seem the most concerned about range. The more "open face" the wheel design, the more drag it will cause which really hurts range. Aerodynamics is even more important than weight. The stock Gemini wheels check off all of your boxes. And, they will provide the most range possible if you keep...

Tesla still has build quality concern.

Like all cars with frameless doors, sometimes the window can be mis-aligned in the closed position and allow a small gap for air to get through. It is common and wind noise can be hard to locate with our ears, so I thought I would mention it. Regardless of the source, a service visit is best...

Tesla still has build quality concern.

You're talking about something that was so minor you didn't bother to bring it in until over a year later. And, Tesla promptly and correctly fixed it under warranty. I'd be pretty pleased. "I never had such issue buying other cars before." You should consider yourself lucky. If you look into...

Tesla still has build quality concern.

My guess would be a slight mis-alignment of the door window when closed leaving a small gap. If so, it's a quick and easy fix. Your roof window and windshield look fine and I highly doubt that is an issue or the issue.

Model Y steering locked up while driving [Power steering went out]

Something doesn't add up. That impact looks massive. And the impact blasted the red car from being parked longwise on the street all the way up into that driveway!!!!!! It's hard to tell from the photo, but also possibly spun the red car around 360 degrees???

    TSportline wheels for Model Y

I had the TS5 with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 3 Plus. The quality was fine. Tire tread lasted about 25k. They looked cool. I sold them in 2023 because the ride was harsher/stiffer than the Uberturbine, they were noisier, and the same or worse efficiency. If you're looking for something...

Deep Blue Metallic Model Y Picture Thread

This has been proven to not be the case by most owners. The MYP is an energy hog no matter what (even in Chill mode it finds a way to burn electricity). My MYP has a lifetime Avg Energy of 298 Wh/mi (@ 50,433mi) and that's with me swapping to an all season set of wheels in the winter and using...

Enhanced autopilot worth $6k seems to be useless as summon feature is blocked off

Autopark, Summon, Smart Summon..... we've been waiting since 2016 for those features to be even moderately usable. They are not, even for USS vehicles (unless you want your vehicle to Kamikaze itself into your garage wall). Why do you think Tesla is now working on Actually Smart Summon (ASS)...
