Half way through my inaugural road trip from the service center back to home :)

Well, was going to be picking up my 3 today, but looks like the train was delayed :( They've got me scheduled for Tuesday instead now. Just a few more days i guess lol :)

Just got an update, looks like my 3 will be getting in next Friday, and they confirmed I can pick it up at the service center instead of waiting to have it delivered to the house :) Nothing like a short inaugural road trip to get to know the new car!

I went with deep blue metallic and black interior. Haven't dug into the VIN details yet, how do I figure out if it made the HW3 cutoff?

Welp, officially on the waiting list for an SR+ :) Put in the order on 4/26, got my VIN yesterday. My delivery advisor said it's expected to get in to the service center on the 18th. Apparently I qualify to have it delivered to my house, however.... seeing as the service center is only 2.5...

yeah... I get that the configuration makes for good leg room, cool.... but what about the chemistry for the batteries, anything special there? How reliable are these things going to be compared to Tesla? How fast will they charge? Etc...

$65k is the "intro" price, basically the release edition. They've said they'll have models available for around $40k eventually, though seeing as the $65k version only gets 275 miles of range, I can't imagine the $40k version competing very well with the base Model 3 =/

Ok, cool, yeah Iowa sadly doesn't allow Tesla to have stores either, so I'm sure it would be the same here. Good to know!

That is my question as well, since me getting a Model 3 next year will depend on trading in my current vehicle along with a healthy down payment. Not a big deal to me if I have to drive to the nearest service center to do the trade in and pick up my 3.

Yeah, that is definitely one of the biggest things that makes me hesitate on any EV outside of Tesla... their battery tech has proven over the years to be pretty reliable. Would hate to drop $50k+ on a new car only to have the battery degrade rapidly =/

Totally fair, but I never said Tesla didn't suffer from the same issue ;) I'm simply saying the offering of various shades between black and white here is extra boring. Out of curiosity though, got a link to some photos of your wrap? Definitely looks sharp!

I know at least a few people that think Model 3's interior is just boring and doesn't look great, so I could see them enjoying the P2's interior quite a bit more. I think their tan interior is pretty sharp looking, and I really like the Google Assistant integration. Main detractors for me...

The Polestar 2 Watched the unveiling video, it looks ok... not a fan of the grill up front, but the rest of the design is pretty sharp. Interior looks great. Exterior color options are a bit dull, and they seem to have two different shades of dark grey available? Odd choice that...

I also use Google Music. Tesla would do well to allow people to use the music platform of their choice instead of trying to only allow a couple choices. Would really love to see Android Auto / whatever Apple's version is supported natively on Tesla's cars, but from the little bits I've seen...
