Question on MS clearance / suspension Hong Kong

This is really a personal taste and economic decision rather than a practical one. The spring suspension for most cars (incl MS) should be able to handle 99.9% of HK roads. You can handle the 0.1% by driving really really slowly. Of course, you’re buying the wrong car if you’re going off...

What is actual distance for Model3 Standard+?

The other variable which I can think of is the charging method (SC vs. Tesla Wall Connector vs. 3rd party Medium Charger). For my MS, it does make a little bit of difference in drivable range (when charging to the same 80% charge level) between the 3 charging types. Tesla Wall Connector and the...

What is actual distance for Model3 Standard+?

Ok I see. The drop of around 1-2% per night sounds about right when parked... but your M3' actual driving range compared to the displayed power consumption looks a bit tight. If I'm doing 177~200Wh/km in my MS, I should get roughly 1km of range to 1km of actual driving. You may want to check...

What is actual distance for Model3 Standard+?

Also my home at the top of a small hill doesn’t help... Btw, are you turning on the Sentry mode? I found this is another vampire drain killer! Sentry mode sucks up around 20-30km of range per day for my car (when stationary).

What is actual distance for Model3 Standard+?

Also unique for HK, the summer (air con) and going up / downhill kill the range like nothing else. I once did 150-160km at 80% charge for my 2017 MS 90D during the un-seasonally warm summer days.

What is actual distance for Model3 Standard+?

If you were doing 90% to 34% with a run of 105km and 177~200Wh/km for M3 Standard+, it does sound a bit low, or this implies around 210-220km for 100%. I've a 90D MS, usually charged to 80% for around 250km actual range at 230-250Wh/km. If I do sub 200Wh/km (on highway run), the 80% charge can...

    Normal for a 100D model X to have a range of 330km?

The best way to overcome range anxiety (not recommended though) is to drive the range to 0km on the clock, and then some. It's liked finding a new religion on the range issue after this experience. I did this once, then drove another 5-6km to reach a SC with 0km range, this shows there is some...

    Normal for a 100D model X to have a range of 330km?

Climate control also kills the range quickly. I averaged around 180km for 80% charge on my 2017 MS 90D during May’s unseasonally warm days. Otherwise I can do around 220-230km per charge.

My Terrible Ordeal with AXA Insurance Renewal

Just got a quote for my MS 90D's comprehensive insurance renewal from Liberty, which is over 50% YoY increase and over HK$15K (out of the blue)!! This is despite max 60% NCB and ZERO claim history in my over 20 years driving history (incl. over 10 years in HK) and multi cars insuraed with...

    Normal for a 100D model X to have a range of 330km?

Your experience sounds about right and similar to my experience with my MS in HK. You may get 350km or above on highway driving for 80-90% change, but nowhere near the advertised NEDC range. Then again, I’ve owned a number of other ICE cars in HK. None of them come close to the advertised fuel...

    Normal for a 100D model X to have a range of 330km?

I've a MS 90D (2017), I've got a rated range of around 390km when charged to 80% but only 220-230km in actuality! My previous MS P85+ (2014) has a rated range of around 360km at 80%, but around 180-200km under my normal driving conditions!! Mainly driving around HK island. PS. Spare a thought...

    360 camera view and hotspot

Theoretically the lower front view (or other surrounding views) is not an issue for the Tesla. As even with all the cameras (in a Tesla or other vehicles), they may not be possible to cover a true 360 degree view with blind spots (assuming a stationary vehicle). However, when a vehicle starts to...
