    Model S delivery delayed.

I am similar. Placed my Model S LR order in early Apr 2021 with original EDD of Jul/Aug ‘21, then Oct ‘21, then Dec ‘21, then Feb ‘22, then Jul ‘22, then (finally moving in the right direction…) Apr 17-May 15 of ‘22. But here we are on Apr 4 and still no VIN number.

Annual Service - is the "hardware upgrade" dream finally dead?

At what VIN (approx) did they swap the vents? It is just starting to get cooler in the mornings here and since this is the first autumn since I got mine, I have noticed the defroster doesn't work the same as my old Honda Accord. Just wondering what my reference point should be...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Well...we've decided to cancel our road trip that would have taken us through Greenville - not entirely because of the lack of progress on the 3 Superchargers along our route that would have made it possible for a 100% Supercharger trip (South Hill, VA; Charlotte, NC; and Greenville, SC), but it...

Urban EV owners (at least in Philly) can subsidize their own street EV charging spot

I thought this was an interesting development, one which, if replicated in enough urban areas could help spread EV adoption. I've had a number of friends who live in condos/apartments in the New York City area who have told me they'd love to own a Tesla, but aren't sure where they'd charge it...

    Supercharger - Hays, KS

My parents sent me this photo last night from the Hays, KS Supercharger location. They are on a road trip and, after driving my Model S last weekend, have started paying attention to all things Tesla, so they were really excited to send this to me. They also claimed that the CEO of Applebee's...

UK Model S Launch Event - a few photos

Don't know if people have seen this article yet, but I thought it was pretty good. The author mixes up miles with Wh/mi when describing his remaining range after his test drive, but that got me to wondering why they have a different rated miles range for the UK...(see photos in the article)...

My Tesla: nickname your Model S

Does the "Payment" page ever go away (or at least not be the first thing that pops up when I log in to My Tesla)? I am well aware of what I spent on the car, but if I happen to log in with someone else around, or if I want to get into the My Documents section of the site to pull up a file (I...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Uh oh... I'm starting to get nervous about our planned family-of-five road trip from PA to northern GA (about 60 miles south of Greenville off of I-85) coming up the second week of July. Where it starts to get dicey is on the Glen Allen, VA to Burlington, NC stretch, since there's been no...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

Oooh - I just found this thread. Can I play too? I'm about 5 weeks into my Model S ownership and have (so far) been resetting only Trip A after every 1000 miles. Right now, I'm approaching 3000 total miles, with a lifetime Wh/mi of 309. The first 1000 miles were at 326, then the average had...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

I was talking about the latter with the bendy lines. I guess I hadn't connected the "disappearing video" issue when the homelink menu appears with an inability to superimpose an image. That would be unfortunate...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

Would anyone else like to see those moving "backup guide lines" when looking at the backup camera and in reverse? Seems like this would be easy to superimpose via a software patch and to turn on or off in a settings menu. I've never had a backup camera before my Model S, and I sometimes find...

Consequences of uncooperative state legislatures - pulled over in NJ for no plate

I had the tiny little temp "tag" from CA (about 1" x 4" in the upper left corner of my rear window) that the Norristown SC taped there when I took delivery. I live in PA, but right on the NJ border, and I work in NJ. In PA I am not required to have a front plate. I was driving around just the...

Consequences of uncooperative state legislatures - pulled over in NJ for no plate

I was pulled over in NJ this morning for driving without a license plate. No ticket was issued, as I was able to adequately explain the situation to the patrolman (the NJ town where I was pulled over is on the border with PA where I live; car is 3 weeks post-delivery and I have 30 days to...
