    Israel/Hamas conflict

No, his case is not valid. He apparently doesn't know how twitter shows replies. When you reply to someone, the tweet immediately above yours is the one you replied to. It also shows the tweet the person you replied to replied to, and the one he replied to, and so on and so forth. For...

BEV are exploding all over China.

His BYD graveyard story has been thoroughly debunked, for example. I'm not saying all his stories are fake, but he clearly has a very consistent agenda to push. I wouldn't trust a channel that has a consistent message on anything. For Teslas for example, I wouldn't trust a channel that trashes...

BEV are exploding all over China.

He's certainly been a victim of CPC censorship, but since he left China he's just been a big source of misinformation on China/CPC.

U.S. opens formal safety probe for Autopilot - 2021 Aug 16

I'm sure an attentive driver with active assistance features would result in less accidents. It's possible that the outcome of this will be basically forcing Tesla to have as much CYA stuff in terms of marketing and features restrictions (e.g. driver attention monitoring) as other manufacturers.

8 Years with a Tesla Model 3 (at 15k/yr, at least)

Electronics don't really degrade with typical use, so how many miles driven is pretty irrelevant. If you're looking for how reliable an EV is, look at 5+ years old cars.

    Polestar 2 coming in September?

Looks pretty solid. I'd want a 300+ mile range for the price though. I think once they can achieve that they can sell a lot of it. There are plenty of people who just want a traditional car with an electric powertrain, so hope more of these kind of cars show up on the market.

Lucid Air Will Be Better Than Model S, Says Former Tesla Engineer

Yeah, but when you have to drive 500 miles a day, having to spend even an extra minute waiting for the car to charge can be pretty annoying. I mean, I'm pretty annoyed at having to stop for 5 mins to fill up the gas tank on my way back from work. With that said, I'd much rather not having to...

Lucid Air Will Be Better Than Model S, Says Former Tesla Engineer

There's a segment between high end (>$100k) and mass market(<$40k) though. That's where most versions of the M3 fall currently. I think there's a large segment of consumers who just want a traditional car with a capable electric drivetrain. If Lucid can achieve that, particularly before the...

Lucid Air Will Be Better Than Model S, Says Former Tesla Engineer

I'm very interested in the Lucid Air. I really want a classic luxury car, and I think an EV with its quieter, smoother drivetrain is a natural progression of luxury vehicles. It's my personal taste and I understand that many don't want the same. For me, I'd much rather pay for high end leather...

Are miles really the correct measurement to use for Tesla?

EV batteries degrade primarily with 3 extremes. 1) Extreme speed of charge/discharge. Supercharging will shorten life much quicker than 48V charging, for example. 2) Extreme states of charge. Spending a lot of time with 1% or 99% charge will degrade it quicker than maintaining 60% charge. 3)...

    Million mile motor?

Well, yes, and no. The current parts will undoubtedly get more reliable, but I'm sure they'll be adding or replacing with new parts continuously to keep up with advancement in technology and changing consumer demands. As such, there will always be new and relatively untested parts in cars. I...

Rear ended today. 3-4 month wait - parts not available.

Because they can steal everyone's business by charging less. That's how a free market without a monopoly works. If it works as you described then every pencil manufacturer or [insert any other product or service] would charge a gazillion dollars for a pencil because hey, everyone else does it so...

    Tesla and Hurricane

Does anyone know how well solar panels hold up in a hurricane? Usually the first thing to go is windows and roof in a hurricane.

New Model 3, can feel the road from wheel

Some people just don't believe a car should cause any hassle, what's so hard to understand? I recently got 4 new tires for my fiancee's Lexus and one of the tires was squished a bit by the packing tape. It took 3-4 visits to the tire shop before they managed to stretch it out and mount it. We...

    Polestar 2...

I'm keeping an eye on it. Tesla will have a solid lead in motor and battery, but not everyone will care same as not everyone buys an ICE for its engine and transmission. I agree that the charging network will be big, and that's by far Tesla's biggest advantage IMO. A car represents freedom first...
