Yes there seems to be two cohorts of MYP orders. OG and Switch may average out to three months but I'd bet if you were somehow able to average the two types of orders separately, you'd see a significant difference.

I believe it's a thing now. I called Tesla asking if I could schedule delivery for this weekend (have a VIN but account won't let me schedule delivery yet). SA told me to expect a text in the next few days, once my vehicle is ~1/2 way from the factory. Then I can schedule delivery.

It could be encouraging news for those who want a vehicle sooner. The skeptic & battered-Tesla-reservation-holder in me would say it is probably Tesla encouraging people to order the MYP in order to boost orders on higher margin cars and that the July estimate is just a carrot.

Be careful. I did the same thing with my previous car in anticipation of taking delivery in March. Three months later and I'm still in a rental. It will likely be 5 months from order to delivery for me. I've placed no holds and have been a MYP order from day 1. The process is jacked.
