Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Maybe all of us with broken windows should submit our pictures and make a collage. Or maybe a poll will put real numbers

    Window Break In

All, Apologize for the long post in advance but need to bring awareness to fellow Model 3 owners. Didn’t want this to be my first post but unfortunately it is. I know I’m not the 1st person to experience this and many on this forum and out there going through this pain. Nothing was left out...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

For some reason this post was deleted from Tesla’s Model 3 forum. Wonder why?

@Daniel in SD . Thanks for getting the point in terms of what Tesla could do to improve.

Tesla can improve their security design? Add enhanced security like they did for the Model S and X? That would discourage criminals?

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Going to work with a Mech Eng for plate cover design for the 2 levers. In addition, spent some time looking at the rear seat and locking mechanism. For those that want to try referencing the Model 3 Parts Catalog(link below). If you crawl into your trunk you can see the striker assembly (#14)...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

As I mentioned, 3 cars near food plaza broken in. 2 of which were Teslas. Seems pretty targeted. I agree that laws needs to crack down harder as well.

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

My wife reminded me that in Korea cars are required to have cameras so all cars record activity around them. Enough of a deterrent. Sadly don’t think it will happen here.

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

All, I’m the OP and I work across the street from the Tesla factory in Fremont. A coworker just came back from lunch and told me to not feel bad. He said 3 cars were broken into at the McDonalds plaza (Has Korean, Chinese, Japanese restaurants). 2 of which are Teslas!!! This is just getting out...

I agree. I much rather have had Tesla resources steered to enhanced security rather than Xmas farts!

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

Can we make this thread sticky? No one should have to go through this ever. Like another said reality is that there are victims everywhere and those that don’t report it. I wish they enable the exterior and interior cameras on the car to record when it’s locked. That alone is a deterrent if...

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

All, The backpack was already in the trunk beforehand when I left work. In the future, nothing of value will stay in the car. It’s a good reminder though that no one should open their trunk especially if they have any valuables where others can see.

They break the small piece and pull the latch which drops the rear seat. If they see something they like then they break the large window.
