What were you driving at the start of the '10s.....

The size of modern cars really is unbelievable compared to machines from the past!!

    Changes to Supercharging?

......and yet we still pretend wasting effort on things like EVs has any benefit on emissions reduction. Governments around the world really need to start doing some meaningful action, banning all non essential air travel would be a start, but how many of us would vote for that, despite all the...

    Changes to Supercharging?

Personally I would say put a £100+ additional tax on air fares, another £100 tax on ALL cars, start building cycle infrastructure rather than roads, change all 30mph zone to 20mph and your reduce carbon emissions than supporting the transition to EVs. One thing is clear, EVs will never become...

    Changes to Supercharging?

These kind of figures show just how fragile EV adoption/wider engagement is. If charging companies cannot make money, who is going to invest in charging infrastructure. I'm pretty uncertain if our next car purchase will be another EV. If our X didn't have free for life surcharging I really...

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

I thought I had dreamt it, but its real, there will be at least one of these things either been put up for sale or become SORNed when a repair is needed in Leicestershire at some point soon!! Well

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

You must be reading the paper differently it clearly says ‘In the first nine years of the vehicle’s life, the only scrappage that occurs results from write-off accidents. Thereafter there is a steady increase in scrappage till a peak is reached at around 14 years.’ The implication is therefore...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Technically we haven’t extended anything, in fact the actually footprint of the house has reduced by 5sq meters!! :p But regardless of that, no way could we afford to change to new cars every 4 years. Wife’s Lexus is now 9 years old and going strong, a tiny part of me wonders if I should have...

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

The two richest people I know drive a base spec VW Polo and a 15 year old Fiesta, perhaps that’s why they are rich, they don’t waste money on new cars every 4 years :).

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

Most Rich people in the UK only keep their cars for 4 years... Our Tesla is 7 years old now, most of our neighbours have cars 10 years+ old. Car forums tend to have people who can afford to change their cars much more frequent than normal people :)...

    What’s your job?

Try to do my bit in keeping Aneurin Bevan’s vision from the 1940s alive into the 2040s…..or at least till the 2030s.

    Thinking of selling

We are hardly done with only first and only build, but what the saying…’See one, do one, and teach one :)’. From that I can understand most planning offices are very reasonable, there are very few ‘Nos’, and the final decision is nearly always ‘subjective’. Lots of people can object/complain...

    Thinking of selling

I think someone has already mentioned it, don't try to buy land with no existing building, that really is a pipe dream. There is however a huge number of run down bungalows etc with lovely plots all waiting for someone to rebuild/extend. Even in a conservation area I suspect your easily get...

    Thinking of selling

Luckily our approach to the build is the same as owning an EV….A ‘box’ building is the last thing we want to live in, green/insulation/efficiency stuff really doesn’t do it for us, otherwise we would still have a Leaf instead of a X. We cannot have the car be more elaborate in design with...

    Thinking of selling

There is not such thing as ‘dream house’ unless you build one to your spec ;). Though is gets very close to what I want to live in post retirement….but ditch the plunge pool for a cantilever of some kind :). It’s now one of my main motivations to work harder till retirement, I suspect you are...
