Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

Thanks!! FYI The Tesla recommended electrician was very dishonest. In fact other people complained to the dealer where I picked up my car and they took him off the website. He kept telling the “you’ll lose your warranty” lie. Outside my garage were separate breakers and one wasn’t being used...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

I know, I just think it’s ridiculous to charge an extra $200 because there are other ways I would pay for roads and stuff besides not paying for gas on my Tesla. Other states don’t do This.

Unable to charge using NEMA 14-50 outlet in garage and Mobile Connector

He fixed it after I read him these posts. The problem was the grounding at the breaker box, not outlet.

Unable to charge using NEMA 14-50 outlet in garage and Mobile Connector

I read this to electrician, talked him through it and he fixed it. It was not grounded properly at the breaker rather than outlet. You guys are better than Tesla and all the other professionals.

Unable to charge using NEMA 14-50 outlet in garage and Mobile Connector

I am having the same problem In Georgia. The electrician is here and I read him the posts about grounding and he pulled the outlet and I have pics. He says it’s grounded to neutral. My regular old outlet works and charges and this adapter is from Tesla I have tried 2 of them. Same issue goes...

Pros and Cons of Owning a Tesla

Hi Georgia owners! I just got my car Friday. I wanted to ask, if any of you knew. The Decatur Tesla lady told me the Alpharetta/Roswell location is open on Sunday but only by appointments. It’s 50 miles for me so I’m not making the drive until I confirm I can buy a part from them. Website says...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

Thanks, I hate getting people in trouble with their jobs but since he showed up and I looked up the permit cost on my county website and got another estimate, I think I might have to say something. The permit for my county is a minimum of $50 and then adds cents per kW and feet. For my...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

I think people are saying him telling me I have to use a Tesla electrician from their website or warranty for car is void and no permit warranty is void - everyone on here and Tesla later told me this is not true at all. Tesla lady said “We’re Not cops and we’re not allowed into your house”...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

I get what both of you are saying but what insurance is going to be voided? The car? The house? Other states no permit or permit is $40. $400 is so typical for where I live because my county can’t spend money fast enough in its race to the bottom of the worst Atlanta metro county. Georgia wants...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

Thanks I’ll return it and get another one. None are too pricey. Does anyone know if I can use an extension cord? Like instead of the electrician running the wires to the garage, he just puts it by the breaker box and I run a 30ft cord I saw for 199.00. Some Tesla owners on this site said don’t...

Help, One Electrician Wanted To Charge $1500

Ha ha, I like your thinking. I actually called a few friends with friends who have Teslas around me, and one electrician charges 500, so I’m assuming he skipped the 378 permit. I am putting in a Nema 14/50 I got on amazon for super cheap but other comments on here told me to get a better one so...
