    Roof Sun Shade - recommendations?

I live in the Deep South where it's already hitting 90F. Checked the app once to see if my 6 week old MY was finished charging and saw the interior temperature at 144F. This cannot be good for the long term of the interior. Ended getting this from Amazon. Reevaa roof shade and windshield shade...

Is Elon thinking of REHIRING some of the fired SuperCharging folks

Once I had a supervisor who was completely incompetent at his job. I know how he got his slot but it’s irrelevant to the situation. We on his crew tried our best to steer him in the right direction but his attitude of I’m the boss and I know better derailed our attempts. There was an incident...

    Aluminium doors, who knew?

We have a 2018 Accord and there is aluminum all over it. Yes repairs will be expensive. Doesn’t matter as that car will be gone in a week. Replaced by a Subaru Outback. My previous car was a 2015 Accord. Got into a love tap with an 18 wheeler that mildly dinked up the left rear fender. Took it...

What are your home electricity rates?

I take the entire bill which includes taxes and Storm Restoration Charge but not the street light. The street light is such a negligible amount it doesn’t affect the rate to a significant degree. Entergy Louisiana. 0.13004 kWH 24/7. No off peak discounts.

Do you normally use "CHILL" mode or "NORMAL" mode with your model Y?

I’m a very mellow driver. Gave standard mode a try for the 800 miles that’s on it. Switched to chill a couple days ago and I think I prefer it. First thing I did at my first charging stop after picking it up was to switch the steering to comfort.

    Auto Wipers

I picked up my MY 4 days ago. Due to screwed up local laws had to take delivery over 600 miles (1000km) away. On that road trip back home two things I noticed were completely broken. Basic autopilot (TACC) is useless on slightly curvy two lane roads. Phantom braking and lane departure warnings...

Autopilot is useless on non-highway roads.

Picked up my new MYRWD two days ago. Due to the screwed up laws in my state where direct to consumer sales are illegal (we’re working on that) I had to take delivery out of state. The one in inventory that matched my specs was over 600 miles (1000km) away. Took delivery and immediately got on...

    New 2024 model y 1st tesla owner

Southern hospitality is a real thing. During Hurricane Gustav a tree fell and crushed the house. Neighbors brought in food. Another brought in his fifth wheel camper for us to stay in. The outpouring of support was incredible. On the flip side I did entertain the neighbors when I stepped out in...

Getting to a supercharger from my house is not convenient. It involves crossing the Mississippi River which frequently has major traffic jams. Then navigating to one of two SC stations in the city. Then returning back is a PITA. Letting him charge at my place is just being a good neighbor.

Fair enough question. I like Elon. Yeah every so often he’ll say or do something that makes your head tilt like the RCA dog. But take a step back and look at the bigger picture. He has done things and has shaken up the status quo in everything he’s involved in. We get people like that once in a...

Another old fart here. 66 and ordering a MY March 11. Why that date? It’s the anniversary of my retirement date four years ago. (Thanks Covid) I got my need for speed out of my system decades ago when I was motorcycle drag racing. Getting death wobbles at 100mph will make you rethink your...

Need for Tesla Advertising / PR

When the original Roadster came out it was $100k. She locked in on that and never gave Tesla or any other EV a second thought. For that matter until I did my research I thought an EV was way out my price range. It’s real simple. The infomercial I described above would give those sitting on the...

Need for Tesla Advertising / PR

I'm about to buy my first EV. My personality makeup is that I research things to the point some say I'm obsessed. May be true but whatever decision I make you can say I'm informed. So, in thinking about a new car everything was on the table. EVs really wasn't in the mix. The usual stuff. No...
