Sorry for the OP and thankfully looks like no one in the car was ok. I was thinking another day if the car can flash hazard lights and honk when it detects a potential rear end or any dangerous events. this should be quite easy.

I immediately worried about it could be lubricant and may affect the breaking performance. But then I think it is fine as EV mainly uses Regen breaking. But I would take the rim cover off and find the source.
