Discussion: Powerwall 3 [Speculation / Discussion etc]

Look carefully at the wiring diagram from the panels ... since (as many others have pointed out), they may parallel'ize some panel arrays that are at different angles. Yes, it saves a few bucks on copper wire ... but questionable (IMHO) if that is worth the slight loss in production plus reduced...

Tesla installed strings in parallel on 7.6 Inverter

I asked several times about this and got the run-around ... so let me know if you figure out the magic words to make it happen! And yes, I have an open MPPT port also.

How much power does your home draw overnight? (Baseline energy use)

My overnight "dead-load" is about 250 Watts for a 3,000 square foot home. I've been pretty aggressive about going after vampire loads, so just modem/router/camera, outside lights (LED of course), and surprising number of itty-bitty loads that add up such as smart thermostat, garage door...

Tesla installed strings in parallel on 7.6 Inverter

Same things happened to me - they wired East & West panel in parallel. Realistically, I think it only results in a small hit in production ... but to do that for 20+ years to save on a couple dozen feet of 10 gauge wire - WTF Tesla?!? Plus you lose some troubleshooting ability if you have an...

No more direct customer access to PW+

Meant to add I have a recent install with the 7.6kW inverter (not battery) 1538000 - firmware is 23.4.2-2 Also, the IP address the inverter answers on is 192.168.91.1 ... *NOT* 192.169.92.1 (and yes, I did nmap it!) When I hit that, I get a login screen that is up for a second, and then a...

No more direct customer access to PW+

I've tried a couple of /api URL's I've seen posted online, but none of these work on mine. Can you share a couple that are STILL working on yours so I can try on mine - thanks!

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

Lafayette, Colorado: 8/1 - Tesla shows up in the afternoon to start Solar install 8/3 - Tesla finishes solar install mid-day 8/10 - Inspection by Tesla and City of Lafayette (who I understand sent it to Tesla that afternoon) 8/11 - I pay Tesla (you do this after inspection but before PTO) 8/24 -...

Solar Production dropped by over half!

As someone who live just North of you in Lafayette and is (hopefully) soon to get PTO from Xcel to turn things on, thanks for posting your play-by-play. Kinda discouraging that it is taking that long ...

Requesting Help Determining if there is an issue with one of my Tesla Solar Strings

You probably already know this, but the reason the "parallelized" strings are "jumpered" at the MPTT is because there is a 13 Amp limitation per slot. Serial connections at the array are additive for voltage (and maintain amperage) - parallel connections are additive for Amps, but should ideally...

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

FYI FWIW that in Lafayette, Colorado, the (Tesla & City) inspection was a week after install ... and City signed off that afternoon. Unfortunately, Tesla had a hiccup on submitting to Xcel Energy - apparently they marked it as "Inspection" versus "Final Inspection" ... so hopefully will go...
