I'm in Melb and installed my own on a Model Y Perf, It was quite a pain to install to be honest. The model 3 which I had before was a easy install though.

Our previous model 3 was silent but we got a model y so i figured it was important to have it given children. Tesla's don't have the best rear visibility via the mirrors

Aust has different electrical standards than the USA and also we're 240v not 120v so I assume there is a bunch of certification they need to go through before they announce it here.

TBH I mainly charge these days when the wholesale price goes negative (it's nice to get paid to charge the car), that said I enabled charge on solar yesterday.

Oh.. I haven't got the email but as long as your App is updated to 4.30.5 it should appear on the car page after you've connected the charge cable to the car. I noticed under powerwall there is a new user called Skybridge and All Sites.

So Charge on Solar is enabled in Australia. Also the new Tesla update 2024.2.7 is being installed.

So has anyone seen the Charge-On-Solar options? I've checked my place and my parents (both with Tesla's and Powerwalls)... Can't see the option on for either. I'm on iOS 4.30.0 version which is the latest.

You should join Amber then... most of the really sunny or windy days in that lunch period the prices are negative, so you get paid to charge the Powerwall and car :)

Just check the daily supply fee on most of these plans cause that's the killer on most of them.

So jack the price by a few thousand and give back a few hundred ;) I wouldn't bother with most of the VPP's btw, i'd just go for Amber Electric or another wholesaler. There is more money to be made by the wholesale grid price fluctuations as long as you can adapt your car to also be charged...
