At least they let you know before you showed up. Instead of waiting til you got there and saying "Umm, well you see... we don't actually have your car here now."

They usually give you a 3 day window. If you can't make that window then the car goes to someone else. You can always try and contact the delivery center and see if they'll give you a day or 2 if needed.

I said $1k. For me though it does depend on which Tesla I'm buying. If I was getting a model 3 I'd not be willing to pay $1k. On a model S $1k is kind of like buying a candy bar when checking out at the grocery store. It would be less than 1% of the price of the car so is a minor addition.

I got a vin yesterday for my Dec 21 (RN1162 blue/cream/19"/no FSD) order. Of course I received the text telling me I had a vin after I landed in Florida for a week long vacation. Waiting to see if I can do all the Insurance and trade in stuff after I get back next week. Still shows Jun 17-24 EDD...

Yep, until you have a VIN any dates are a complete fantasy. Even when you do get a VIN there's a chance they're just messing with you 😈

+1 for rescheduling during the week if you want lots of time to look the car over. The Colorado Springs store where I picked up my model 3 was pretty quiet when I picked up on a Tuesday. I was in the area over the weekend once and the front lot was completely full of cars being delivered that day.

After putting my order on hold for a week to make sure I got unmatched from the car that needed it's rear drive unit replaced I'm at my widest window ever now. Currently sits at June 28 - August 23.

If you have the original order confirmation email from Tesla that should have the RN in it. Possibly also the MVPA, I can't confirm though because I didn't keep mine. Edit: and of course as I was typing this the page refreshed and you posted your RN 🤣

I don't know if it affects EDD or not. Probably best to just set to cash until you get a VIN then you can ask to have it switched back. That way you don't keep doing credit pulls for a loan that you might not need yet.
