I'm a Convert to Departure Time Scheduling

When did this change to 'departure time'? For the last month (june), my wife had to go back into the office. So now she plugs it in, and I don't see what the screen says. But I plugged it in today at 6p - and it started charging right away. I guess I need to set it for 7am finish time, from 11pm...

    Tesla CHAdeMO adapter

I was tempted to get one of these, just for an emergency. On the road, I could plug in at any Nissan dealer. At least until they kicked me out... But at this price? For a dying charger format? Forget it! I haven't used a commercial charger yet. Where would you use this charger, where they...

    Outside EV Charging Kiosk

My parents bought a 80yo suburban farmhouse in 1955. I loved the oak shingles. When freshly painted, the cuts from the circular saw made them look brand new! When I went back to look at the house, in 2010, I saw the new owners covered it in vinyl siding! UGH! I see your beautiful roof as a...

My 3 was hit by a teenager; what can/should be claimed for this damage?

Glad there were only minor injuries. Things happen fast, and I hope the kid learns a lesson. Many cars have big A pillars, making it hard to see past it. Especially bad for pedestrians. Thanks for your story, and best of luck with insurance!

The around Australia EV route has now been driven on 10 occasions

Now that's a trip! Atlanta has one perimeter road that circles the city. 64 miles of I-285. With the Tesla 3, I'm tempted to do a lap. The faster lanes may travel at 90mph. If I was carefree and younger, I might blast around it one time, to see how long it takes. And funny - I usually drove...

I crashed my new model 3: here’s what I’ve learned so far.

What a mess! Good luck, and thanks for the info. About that glove box - I've read that also may not open, after an accident that kills the 12v battery. So it may be safest to keep emergency information elsewhere, too. Behind the front seat? Formula 1 teams use similar dollys - except they are...

    Tesla moments

"How much do these cost?" Our 3 SR+ was $40k. We paid $43,500, because the paint and 19" wheels. We were all set to buy another Leaf. The top model and battery were ~$42k. Same with the Niro. In a magazine, I read the Ford Fusion ICE, with all options, was ~40k. I didn't see many options I'm...

Model X Crash on US-101 (Mountain View, CA)

'Really close up photos ...' You can see the right box frame, where it was cut with a saw. I'm sure the front end was mangled, and in the way.

Rear motor failure on road trip.

'Family member's Benz's computer systems all died on the road, has been in the shop for a month or more. Based on that experience, all Benzes are unreliable...' We looked at Mercedes, and liked them. But the repair record for ALL German cars was horrendous! We got a Lexus. It's 13yo, and has...

Rear motor failure on road trip.

I agree with the SC problems. Each time I call, leave messages, or email - I get ignored. By the 3 writers, by Tesla, and whoever else monitors the SC's. The only way is to drive 20min to the SC. Once there, everything works fine. The helpful writer has given me phone numbers, text numbers...

This is what a $6,100 dent looks like...

I know. I wonder how many cars I bought, in the 60's, that cost less than my $2000 red paint. My year-old 73 Volvo wagon was $2100. My wife's 6mo old 1973 Saab 93 was even less. That's what cars cost back then. And they looked it! Cars today are works of art. Look at the cost of replacing a...

    Tesla Supercharger network

Nice chart. We saw so many Teslas in Phoenix, on a visit. Many more than in Atlanta. But a lot depends on the neighborhoods. I see 20 SC's for AZ, 15 for GA? But most are near interstates. What may matter, to locals, are how many are intown? I see 6 for Phoenix. I think. Some may be slower...

Blog Report: Tesla Employees Pressured to Take Shortcuts to Meet Production Goals

Except for the fogged-up fog light they replaced, no problems on mine, with 800mi. Or so I thought - the service writer noticed a plastic piece missing, from around the front camera. More of a decorative piece. He ordered the part, and it will be installed. But let's be honest - every worker...
