    Vehicle Shutdown; Pull over safely

Follow up: I took my car in to the service center and they replaced the inverter. They had my car for barely 24 hours so that was fast. My car is out of the main warranty at 60,000 miles but they replaced it free - that part of the car is still covered. So good news. I hope it doesn't happen again!

"Pull Over Safely - Vehicle Shutting Down" - Car Totally Disabled

Ha! So true. That is the reality now! Follow up: I took my car in to the service center and they replaced the inverter. They had my car for barely 24 hours so that was fast. My car is out of the main warranty at 60,000 miles but they replaced it free - that part of the car is still covered. So...

"Pull Over Safely - Vehicle Shutting Down" - Car Totally Disabled

Posting this message on this thread as well, sorry if that is bad form but this is a safety issue. My car has 60,000 miles so not a new car as many have had. This happened to me today on a busy freeway in Los Angeles with no shoulder to pull over onto. Very scary. The car was moving very slowly...

    Vehicle Shutdown; Pull over safely

This happened to me today on a busy freeway in Los Angeles with no shoulder to pull over onto. Very scary. The car was moving very slowly in rush hour traffic when it just braked to a stop. Even though there was a message that said "vehicle shut down, pull over safely", I couldn't put the car in...

    Vampire drain again?

Hi jjrandorin. Can you explain what "30% capacity loss from starting" means? I charged to 80%, then drove 137 actual miles. My M3 showed a 196 mile decrease in range. That's a 43% "loss" of range! Can all that be explained by the heater being on or other systems? (I am in Los Angeles.) Trying to...

Does the Gen 3 Wall connector faceplate fit Gen 2 Wall connector?

Does anyone know if the glass faceplate of the gen 3 fits on the gen 2? The installers cracked my gen 2 faceplate and I can only find the gen 3 replacement faceplate. Thanks.

    Disaster Averted!!

I've found I cannot rely on the red vehicle indicator. There is too much lag. What I consider too close does not show as red on the screen, especially if that car is moving quickly. Also the car is spotty at recognizing motorcycles. So if you only rely on the red car indicator you may seriously...

12,305 miles over 7 weeks - Road Trip

@rigs21k : Thanks for the photos. It does look comfy. I'm 5-10" and I think my head goes just beyond the top of the seat. I don't understand what you mean that you removed the rear bench. Do you mean in addition to folding down the rear seat backs you somehow removed the rear seat part too?

12,305 miles over 7 weeks - Road Trip

Would love to see a photo of the mattress in the trunk. It seems to me the back seats don't go down far enough to make it flat. Did you do anything to even it out?

What started you investing in Tesla (@Jackl1956 thread)

Impressed, to say the least, after a Model 3 test drive, I thought "this company is going to change the world". I researched the stock and saw that it was about $100 below it's peak at the time. That's all I needed to know to feel it was a good buy. I bought stock within days after the test...

My model 3 prevented a crash by applying emergency braking while in reverse

I suggested this to Elon via Tweet after my friend caused $13,000 damage by backing into a black Model 3 at night that was parked in the road. I didn't get a reply.

    12.11.1

Thank you iamnid. At first I felt bad that I started a new thread but after ready 7 pages of mostly "I just downloaded the new software. I'll let you know if anything interesting happens" I don't feel so bad. That topic is too general. I was addressing something specific here.
