Sentry Mode red X most of the time

Like all other firmware updates since this started happening last November, 2024.8.7 changes nothing in respect of loss of USB. If you think it has, just give it a few days. The fault is intermittent and doesn't occur every time you park the car with sentry off.

Sentry Mode red X most of the time

    The USB source is irrelevant.

Sentry Mode red X most of the time

My problem started in late November 2023, several weeks after a software update. There have been several software updates since, and none has made any difference. It wasn't caused by a firmware update, and it hasn't changed when the firmware has changed. The way it goes on and off, it seems more...

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

Here's another thread reporting the same problem: Sentry Mode red X most of the time

Sentry Mode red X most of the time

I have the same problem, and Tesla has been unable to fix it. See: Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty The White Plains NY Tesla service center claimed that there were no other similar complaints. You should take your car to a Tesla service center to at...

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

Yes. Before my warranty runs out in August, I will either get the Tesla extended warranty or a third-party warranty. I haven't researched extended warranties yet. I also haven't researched whether a manufacturer can run out the clock on performing a warranty repair simply by claiming that the...

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

Take your car to a Tesla service center. They won't be able to fix it, but if enough people with the same failure complain, somebody at Tesla may make an effort to troubleshoot the problem. I turned off Sentry when I left the car with the service center so that that USB would disappear when the...

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

About 10% of the time, my car also requires two consecutive reboots to recover USB. On those occasions, I get a Loading Error after the first reboot. Most of the time, one reboot is all that is needed.

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

I I'm on the standard update schedule and thus have 2024.2.7, which doesn't deal with sentry. It only made the wipers run every day in dry weather.

Lemon laws do not apply to a 4-year-old car.

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

My 2020 MYLR with about 20,000 miles suddenly developed an intermittent electrical problem that the Tesla Service Center has been able to duplicate and document but not fix. When the car is parked with Sentry off for about 10 minutes or more, it often loses all USB functions, both security and...

Windshield wiper controls are the worst about a Tesla

The wipers are so much worse under the latest software update, that I leave them off until it starts to rain, then use a voice command to turn them on. When it stops raining, I stop the wipers with a voice command Wipers Off. I would prefer a knob or stalk control, but this is OK. Unlike dumb...

Intermittent loss of USB stick icon and playback/security until reboot

The Tesla service center has been able to verify and document the malfunction, but they have not been able determine the cause and are requesting assistance from national Tesla. They advised me that no other customer has had this problem. In other words, I'm patient zero. To summarize, the...

    21" wheels on a loaner Model Y - Not a happy experience.

I have a 2020 Model Y LR with standard 19" wheels. Tesla service gave me a loaner 2021 MYLR with 21" wheels and Pirelli PZero tires. For the first time, I experienced what some people have called a seasick feeling while driving a Tesla. My Y with 19" wheels rides rough and bounces on road...
