I've been predicting a delay of at least 3 months, could go as high as 6. Elon is no longer committing to any 10,000 unit goal time frame. Makes sense, the two month silence after the initial release to employees was deafening.

I have agree with codex57, I see no incentive for Tesla to offer anything more on the Base model until all the pre-orders have been satisfied.

19" or 20" rims

How about the 19" rims? Are we certain those do not have covers as well? I keep looking at them and it seems quite possible...

I'm fairly confident the $5K price tag won't stick, it's an early adopter price. Already Nissan has the Pro Pilot option on the new Leaf for only $2500 (and that's part of a bundle with some other items).

True, but the 19" tires that have been showing up on the RC's are not well rated. I genuinely feel you're better off taking the 18" rims (I would keep them for Winter use) and invest those funds in a really good Summer tire/rim package.

19" TSportline Turbines for Model S are currently available at $425 a piece. If the offsets are similar they could very well use the same rim. If that's too rich Tirerack has Model S 20" versions (20 x 9" or 20 x 10") available in the $239-249 range (again, depending on the offset); but prices...

I too generally get silver, and the one at the launch event looked incredible but the current silver just looks flat in all the pics I've seen; it needs more depth or something.
