View Waze Incidents on the Tesla browser

This is a great tool, thanks for doing this! One question/suggestion: Is there any way you could filter out the Hazards and show only Police, Accidents, and Construction? Along the Interstates (in my area anyway), there are dozens of Hazards reported, and most of them are simply cars stopped...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

I think that your last idea is the simplest and easiest. - - - Updated - - - I don't think that any of us know this with 100% certainty, but I'm personally very confident that Tesla's Battery Management System is designed to take these worst-case conditions into account. I wouldn't (and...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

If possible you should charge all the way to 100% at your home and the Supercharger (and maybe even at the track). The 20 mile drive from your house or the Supercharger to the track should be enough to bring the battery up to operating temperature even if the outside temps are in the 40's, and...

Model S charge curve as a .CSV or easily readable graph?

It polls the Tesla servers directly using the same username and password that the iPhone app uses. But it is independent of and does not require the iPhone app, and it does a whole lot more than the iPhone app, such as performing scheduled actions and sending notifications for a variety of...

Another iTunes, iPod, Bluetooth, music question for Model S new owner

If you want to listen to a collection of songs by different artists, then yes, that is the best solution. That is the closest thing to a playlist that the Tesla currently supports.

Another iTunes, iPod, Bluetooth, music question for Model S new owner

It all spends upon the Play mode. The Model S currently has only an extremely basic USB play mechanism. If you access your USB by Artists, and choose All Songs, you can play All Songs by that Artist. If you choose By Album, then you obviously only get the songs from that album. If you All...

    Supercharger - Brandon, FL

I received an email from Tesla a few hours ago saying that the Tampa (Brandon) Supercharger is now open. Yay, as I'm headed down there in 3 days!

    Tesla moments

Yeah, I agree, but that's really a common statement, at least in my region. I took my P85 to the Friday Night Drags at Atlanta Motor Speedway every Friday all summer, and gave several thousand people their first look at a Tesla. (This was in rural Georgia and not California, so Tesla's are...

    Tesla moments

I used astsci's layout but tweaked the graphics and text a bit. I got them printed on glossy card stock at overnightprints.com for about $0.32 each. The hi-res version of mine can be downloaded from https://db.tt/IEUHLGyh

    Tesla moments

I went to a car show in Newnan, GA, today; I had to park in the center of the lot, and it was really hot, over 100-degrees w/ no clouds. I had my usual posters in the trunk & frunk along with postcard handouts and a couple of drag-racing trophies I'd won over the summer. I left the AC running...

First ever trophy win for an electric car at Atlanta MotorSpeedway Friday Night Drags

I've now done eight weeks of 1/8-mile races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Friday Night Drags, and after three first-place wins in the Factory Street Class for points, I've been bumped into the Domestic Class. That class allows bored & stroked motors, headers, intake mods, hotter cams, etc., and...

    Tesla moments

I was at the weekly Friday Night Drag races last night and had my car parked in the grid area waiting to go on the track for practice runs. Many people at these events have never seen a Tesla before, and one guy asked to look under the hood, so I opened the frunk as well as the rear to show him...

    Model S burnout

Hodginator: It also depends a lot on your road surface. On grippy asphalt, I can hardly get a chirp from my P85 tires even w/ TC-Off. In a concrete-surfaced parking garage, or on a drag-strip's concrete burnout lane, i can easily leave 50-ft long rubber-marks, spin the tires to shreds, &...
