Tesla electric sedan to join updated Roadster

Nice. The thing about Tesla is that their cars aren't even on the road yet. Once they get out there, people will start trusting the company (unless they get out there and start breaking) and I think sales will go up. Nobody buys version 1.0 of anything.

    EV Attack!

That is one of the coolest looking cars I have ever seen.

Why would I expect anything different from GM? Plug-in hybrid a wash

I think for that we can blame battery costs. If it is too expensive, it would be nice for GM to offer optional battery packs, so maybe the base model has a 30 mile all electric range, but you can upgrade it.

    Electrum Spyder

Re: New Sports Car debuts on Dec. 9, in CA I've been watching UEV for almost a year now. I can't wait to see this thing on the streets.

Why would I expect anything different from GM? Plug-in hybrid a wash

GM had in insane opportunity with their plug in hybrid. The popularity of "Who Killed the Electric Car" could have worked in their favor if they had rolled out something really impressive. I would've much rather seen something brand new or at least something more reasonably sized than the Vue...

    Biggest Threat to Tesla

The 20-30 miles all electric range was speculation. I agree that 100 miles should be the optimal and realistic goal. Also, because the car is a series hybrid, it would have to be full speed electric, as the only motor moving the wheels is an electric one. I'm very much looking forward to this car.

    Biggest Threat to Tesla

GM has built a plug in hybrid prototype! http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-ev9nov09,1,4658690.story?track=crosspromo&coll=la-headlines-business&ctrack=1&cset=true Personally I consider plug in hybrids to be the best of both worlds. You have enough range to cover your daily needs in all...

    HONDA FCX Ultracapacitor

Woah. But if Honda could build this, why bother with the fuel cell at all?

Who here has actually bought/will actually buy a Roadster?

One of the problems right now is that no matter how you slice it, battery replacement and initial costs currently make EVs far more expensive than gas cars, even with $3/gallon gas. However, plenty of fringe technologies are aiming to solve this problem, and I know of one that is actually on the...

Who here has actually bought/will actually buy a Roadster?

Who here has actually bought/will actually buy a Roadster? More than 100 of them have been sold already, and there's a fair chance at least one person on this forum bought one/ is actually rich enough to buy one. I haven't, and unless I randomly become rich I doubt I will. However, I am hoping...

I wonder how the market will react to the reemergence of the electric car?

I think that the case for the electric car goes far beyond politics. We need to switch to something other than oil in the next few decades (some would argue as fast as possible, oil companies would say we have until 2025 to start worrying), and I think electric is the best option. On top of...
