According to the Tesla sales rep, the banks they work with (and i believe all major banks in canada) are "open" automotive loans, so there's no penalty for pre-paying principle or paying it all off at once.

Is that what Tesla is showing you or what you got as part of your package from BMO? I did mine 2 weeks ago, tesla showed me 5.2%, after i went through with the application it wound up being at a rate of 3.2% with BMO

I wouldn't use the "sale" price you are "saving" on the new cost of a LR compared to what you can now pay as justification, and i say that as a recent recipent of a long range. If you want the car sooner, and will also benefit from the other features, then it's worth the switch I think.

My financing application from tesla had a rate of 5.2% which was adjusted down to 3.2% APR after BMO reviewed my agreement and updated it. Not sure if this is typical so i figured i'd share.
