Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Nothing special about Tesla being “able” to reduce prices. They are “able” to reduce them still further. The issue is the necessity that drives them to do it.

Stocks have an uncanny way of gravitating towards round numbers! Technically there’s no real support if and when it gets there: probably the shock of seeing it drop to double digits will flush out yet more weak hands.

Unless laid-off programmers can all jump into airplane cockpits, you’re describing a steep deterioration in wages. (And even captains’ pay ain’t what it used to be.) Travel-related jobs are in aggregate toward the lowest-paying of any industry. MarketWatch had an article a couple days ago about...

That’s quite true. To do so would be to take no risk of missing the upside but still to dodge the tax bill. Good point.

That’d make no sense. The wash sale rule is needed to prevent investors from realizing losses for tax purposes without those investors taking real risk. E.g. a TSLA investor sells shares at a 50% loss then immediately buys them back. Since losses within pension accounts do nothing to reduce tax...

And for today’s nonsense, Musk uses his megaphone to endorse Kevin McCarthy!!! Is he so attention-hungry that he doesn’t mind if it comes coupled with humiliation?

I’d remove the terns of invective…”distrust”…”question the motivations.” Short of a formal accusation, these only strengthen bureaucratic resistance to change.

I doubt that Musk today has the wherewithal to finance an LBO. My guess is the Ford was when initiated his.

At this point I think it’d be more positive for TSLA if she reported she’d liquidated her holdings. Her funds are unmitigated disasters and her cheerleading has turned into a liability.

I’m 68 and thus Old School. A couple weeks ago I related that a young woman is assisting me in my Sunday school class and that she prefers the gender-neutral “they.” It is weird for me BUT I CAN HANDLE IT. It doesn’t make me “bullied.” Hell, using “MS.” was weird for me when that neologism...

I’ve listened and I’ve read, but I can’t see how doing either makes Musk seem less of a bully.

I too would love see a break from the hikes, but why do you say that the job numbers are fake or inaccurate.
